sucker?

Ok, I put an order in on a 33' Outlaw 496 MAG HOs for $129,000. Now I see that one will go for $101,000 at show. Could I have put $28,000 of $hit on it with no trailer? Will someone just tell me if this is a good deal on my ordered boat?

Need-the-Speed 02-11-2003 12:51 AM

It's a good deal! Thougnt I might chear you up....SUCKER!
Just a Joke. Did you put some cash down? Is it to late to back out of your deal? Oh yeah, about the dealer, I might just call Baja and ask them if every dealer is responsible for warranty work. If so, I would tell that no good duck that he can stick his "in state" boat up his no good sass. Go buy a Baja from RC Congel. 1-315-699-2144 Ask for a guy by the name of Pat. just my 2c's

GAMEMAN 02-11-2003 08:19 AM

Details please both boats sound awful cheap to me what year, equipment, state etc. From what I know 101,000 would be under cost. If you do buy it out of state and your baja dealer won't service it just call the factory in Ohio I'm sure they would be glad to straighten the dealer out.

BajaRunner 02-11-2003 12:14 PM

101k sounds like a really good deal on a 33' w/496 ho's

I dont think they are giving you the right price on that boat. I heard the HO option is 10k

garshev 02-11-2003 04:32 PM

BLOWIN SMOKE

Somebody is really blowin smoke @ 101,000. That has to be below dealers cost.  I thought 129,000 w/o a trailer sounded about right depending on options.

bajacraig 02-11-2003 05:53 PM

garshev,

The more I've thought about it I know that 101,000 cant be true. I spent a lot of time on this. I think that 129,000 is ok. As long as Im within 2%-3% of the best deal im ok, but with boats you NEVER know do you?

slgr24 03-11-2003 08:31 AM

What options did you have on this boat? Did it include a trailer and where (who) is the dealer? $129000 is a lot lower than the one I've been quoted!!

BURNSMAZZ 03-11-2003 10:36 AM

No way, what the hell's it got for power a pair of 305's,someones on crack!

bajacraig 03-11-2003 10:49 AM

This is kind of old, I found out that the boat had the 6.2s.
The 101 was not with HOs

I did order mine for the price I was at.

Team V 03-12-2003 07:34 AM

Food for thought...
There is a dealer in Syracuse New York advertising a 2003 36 Outlaw w/496 Mag HO's for $119,000.

Team V 03-12-2003 07:35 AM

Thats not including trailer

slgr24 03-12-2003 10:10 AM

What dealer was this? Was it R C Congel?

Team V 03-12-2003 10:22 AM

Yes it is, the ad is running in the boat trader, nothing online yet.

slgr24 03-12-2003 10:38 AM

That would be around 126-128 with a trailer!! Thats a lot better deal than I was getting offered on a 33!!!

Team V 03-12-2003 11:12 AM

They also have a 29 Outlaw w/496 Mag HO's for $89,995 w/o trailer. I would think a 33 would fall somewhere between the two?
You can get their info off their site: www.rccongelboats.com

They seem to have the best prices in the country. Maybe well worth a trip for somebody.

bajacraig 03-12-2003 03:11 PM

Missouri is the "Show Me" state, and I would have to see that.
119 for a "NEW" 36' w/trailer, the boat must not have any options at all or be as UGLY as the one at Fox in Pennsylvania.

Team V 03-12-2003 03:47 PM

bajacraig, thats without a trailer, I haven't seen the 36, I can't comment on the looks.

SledgeHammer 03-12-2003 08:12 PM

I would have to second what everyone is saying about RC Congel. I drove from Iowa to Syracuse New York because of their price.

fatdaddy 03-12-2003 08:36 PM

I ordered a new 33 w/ SST package and 496HO's. Price was $119k. I then went crazy and put up another $14k for level 2 graphics. If I went for the instock boat, I could have done a bit better but I wasn't crazy about the graphics. I think that I made a good deal. Good luck. Oh, I also threw another $9k for an additional 5 yrs. of warranty. No trailer, I'm getting a lift.

bajacraig 03-12-2003 08:49 PM

fatdaddy

did you have a trade?

fatdaddy 03-12-2003 09:55 PM

B-craig, I was going to have a trade originally but wound up selling it privately. Why?

bajacraig 03-12-2003 10:26 PM

Fatdaddy,

I'm just trying to compere our two deals.

I hope I'm not getting too personal and if I am I do appaligise. I just see this as a good place to find information so we don't get screwed.
With that said, can I ask what the extra $9000 in warranty was for? The only thing I was offered was the Merc warranty. $1500 each and I had a year for that.

Craig

fatdaddy 03-12-2003 10:40 PM

Craig, fire away. You are not getting too personal at all. I'd be happy to compare deals w/ you if it'll help you or me. I liked my price based on the prices of boats I saw at the boat show. I, too, am freaked about the amt. of money I paid. I went from an $18k boat to a $59k boat to the present in a short 4 yrs. The 5 yr. warranty I'm getting is the Mercruiser warranty which must be purchased before the 1 yr. factory warranty expires. I was told that retail is about $5400 per engine. What is the $1500 warranty that you are speaking about. Ric

bajacraig 03-12-2003 10:50 PM

Ric,
Cool, I'll check on my $1500, the wife knows all the $'s and is in bed. But I do know it was a Mercruiser warranty not an after market one and was not $5400 each. I think this was talked about on this or anouther page. I'll check and let you know what I find.
I too have made the same kinds of jumps $10000 to $50000 to now in 5 years:D

bajacraig 03-12-2003 10:57 PM

Ric,

I see you did your homework on this. After looking at it I think it was more like $3000 each Not $1500 each If I'm wrong I'm sorry

Craig

bajacraig 03-12-2003 11:09 PM

Ok I found it
Its called "Pasport Premiere" from Marine Innovations Warranty Corp. that was $1650 each. Not what I want.
I'll check on the "real" Mercruiser warranty.

Craig

baja27 03-13-2003 08:17 AM

I drove up RC CONGEL and bought my boat there also. The best deals are there. I plan on ordering my 36 thru them.

fatdaddy 03-13-2003 08:52 PM

Craig, Thanks for the info. I had the Passport Premier warranty on my old boat. Per my mechanic, nothing was covered. The warranty on the 33 is the 5 yr. Q guard, I think. Ric

bajacraig 03-13-2003 09:36 PM

My dealer never called me back today. I check back with them on Fri.
Craig

All the extended warranties are farmed out to 3rd parties and they all have similar if not identical language and terms. Mercury is not in the extended warranty buss. but they do "market" one! How much success you have in using it all depends on you understanding the coverage, deductables, and limits. To get the most out when you need it, it takes a friendly service dept. with experience submitting claims to any of these 3rd party providers. One word in the wrong place or order, or choice of words or scenario, can make the difference...do the homework on the contract to begin with, and know ahead of time where to take your boat when you want to use the warranty. Some of the ded. are pretty stiff (but there's a way around that ;) ) and some things will only be covered one time only, from what I understand. Good luck, RPM

SR-24 04-07-2003 09:48 AM

I've been quoted around 129,000 with trailer and just about every option so I would think my quote is pretty good but it sounds like RC could probably beat it by a little.

bajacraig 04-07-2003 05:55 PM

SR-24

What power did you have quoated?

SR-24 04-08-2003 08:28 AM

The 496 HO's

"Fatdaddy" got the best deal that I've seen, IMO

33outlaw 04-09-2003 04:26 PM

Someone is really pulling your leg. If you or someone you know is intersested in a 2001 33 with 496 MAg HO's I'm selling mine. Its listed in the classified section. Custom paint =($8,000) with a Eagle trailer. Wife is all over me to move. reduced $125,000

SR-24 04-10-2003 09:21 AM

I don't really thinks so; two years newer plus every option you have with Mcleoud interior and more.

SR-24 04-10-2003 09:23 AM

I didn't have the level one graphics though. Those are nice!

liquid asset 04-10-2003 08:45 PM

119,000 for a 33 or 89,995 for a 29 would be a hellava deal, I may be driving to New York, were these 03 boats? SST?

Team V 04-11-2003 07:08 AM

The 29 Outlaw is an '03... I looked it over at the Syracuse boat show. I don't think it was an SST, but it had the new graphics, monster gauges and such. Next year I'll have to take a camera.
'03 25 Outlaw w/Mag HO 64,995. '03 275 w/Mag HO 59,995.
Did I say 119K for an '03 36 Outlaw? I'm gonna have to double check that price myself!
