This is my last question anyone have a 272 with a 454/385? I figure that should be about equal to the 375HP . we found a boat at a dealer, looks great but has a 496/375 motor , I read the powerboat review 55MPH in 20 seconds and 30 to 50 in 9 seconds also they say and I quote" This boat could definitley, definitely handle more power" I gave the dealer 1000.00 depoist and have to make the call by 2:00 tomorrow. Is this too little motor?? I am not so concerned about top end , but am concerned about out of the hole it took 4.5 seconds to plane , is that long?:confused:

It,s brand new , I left a hold on it till 2;00 wED. It,s an in stock boat with a 2500.00 cash back all the options I would want except for the high power stereo, I see alot of 272,s for sale what,s the big diff.?

Just sold my 96 272 with 454mag 385...Ran a labbed 4 blade bravo 22 and was much better out of hole than mirage plus 23..
Much better mid range and lose about 1 on top end.. Did same on my 91 260 w sc package..I like 4 blade..

I've got a 272 with 454Mag 385hp... It came with a 23 Mirage Plus, wasn't to bad out of the hole with a light load.... but put a couple big guys in the back seat and forget about it. I changed to the bravo 22 and what a world of difference, lost some top end, but well worth it.

BTW- Did you buy the boat?

NO I passed, we may wait and order a 275 with a 496 425 white with yellow and black graphics, also have a line on a 2000 fountain fever for 50K
