Our First Project-Gel Coat 101
 

We went to Gordo's last night to work on the first project with our new boat-gel coat.
Here is some pics of our work:

This is Banker Ron sanding

This is me applying the gel coat as the teach watches in ahhh of my work! HA!

Mike was SO impressed with my work, he let me apply gel coat without supervision....actually I sent him to fetch me another beer! HeeHee!

While the gel coat hardened we decided those painted-on numbers HAD to go

Mike buffed one side.......

While we sanded the other....

Looks GOOOOOOOD

After the sanding, gel coat application, sanding off the numbers, and buffing(only got to one side) we were pooped and it was late and Banker Ron and I still had an hour trip back home, so we called it a night before we got back to the gel coat, that will be next weekend.

Ron & Carrie did great work. Actually, it's fun watching them get so excited about working on their own boat.
A few minor "touch-ups" here n there, and it's gonna be like new.
A final wax job, and this boats gonna look sweet !!!

Hey....don't forget me......I took pictures and fetched beer!! ;)

That was a good time!!!! The boat is really looking good!!

If I had known that you were going classify the gel repair as "FUN" and not work, I would have raised the price, not lowered it.:D :D

Truly though, with doing work yourself on something and seeing the results, there is a sense of accomplishment and pride that can't be duplicated.:)

As for decals, keep checking ebay. Thats where I got the ones on the back corners. Also, any good sign shop can usually make anything that you can draw or have a picture of.

Did you name the boat yet?

Is this a future POKER RUNNER? Looks like a winner.........
