Sagging Headliner (272)

Need some advise.

Just went to Dallas and picked up a 96 Baja 272. The headliner is sagging in the cabin. What is the best procedurer to reglue to the hull?

Thanks, Jim

take it out and have it replaced, headliners usually have a foam backing with the cloth material glued to them once it starts sagging the material has separated from foam and the foam is still glued to the bottom of deck.

Did you have to pull the complete liner down to reglue? What did you use to re-glue?

Thanks, Jim

the front headliner in my 29 outlaw was doing the same,[one above the bed] I removed one trim board on side, it had 3 screws that held it in place, one at the front, the middle and at the end, that is were the headliner tucks under on the sides, the backing board[foam] was still glued to the roof, like Later said, I toke a chance and used 3M super trim adhesive in a spray can, I used two cans, spray the back of the headliner and the contact surface {roof} let set a few minutes then starting at one corner I worked my way across, it looks great, so far so good

Common problem. Nothing that 3m super won't handle assuming the foam is in good shape. 3m super is easy to work with although when you spray that much adhesive in such a little space you may come out quite buzzed. I suggest a fan, I had a headache later.

Bajalion had a great point, the fumes are BAD, get a cheap respirator, or mask, I used two fans and had the hatches open but it was still very bad, had to stop every couple minutes for fresh air
