454 Mag Top Speed
 

Top speed for a Baja 24 Outlaw 454 mag. is 62mph with a 23 pitch Mirage Plus and corsa quick & quiet exhaust. Does this sound right? I'm interested in hearing from some of the other owners as to what your top speeds are.

Sounds a little off. I have a 27' boss and the stock motor was a 454 Mag,MPI and new she would run 67/68 with the same prop.

I had a 25 w a 502 mag that ran 66 gps. The speed of 62, 63 sounds about right. Beware of speed inflators as my 66 mph outlaw outran boats that were going 70mph or faster according to their owners.:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I had a 454L (the carbed motor, not the mag) in my 24 Outlaw and the top w/ a 23 mirage 3 blade was 58. So that sounds about right.

Sounds about right to me. Check your timing and if it is less than 36 turn it up and you will go a little faster. If you want more break out your checkbook!!!:D

I had a 454 300hp in my 98 24 OUtlaw. It got 58.2 gps. That boat would not go anyfaster with that power, trust me. 23p MP.

Now 520hp gets me about 71-72gps everyday, 73-74 on a great day, 75.7 best reading to date (probably a gps spike though).

I think your speeds are right on, give or take .5 - 1mph each way.

I had a 252 Islander with the 454 Carbed, and my top speed was around 58 also, thats on the speedo, no gps.

i had a 98 24 outlaw se, same set up, 385hp. 62 is all you will get.

great boat.

A friend of mine has the same set up,on a stalker radar gun it ran 64.6mph.
