New Baja Owner

1 Attachment(s)
I just bought this new 20 Outlaw. I know it's kind of a baby Baja but it is my first Off Shore boat. Besides, I've got too many other toys to go big yet. I'd like to run this a couple seasons and then maybe step up.

Are there any other Baja owners in So Cal area?

I'm going to Parker for Memorial day so maybe I'll see some out there. It seams like most are Fl or East Coast.

I'm looking for some local OSO boaters for advise. I'd like to run to Catalina but want to get some experience before venturing out.

Thanks.

Baja Fresh,

There are quite a few OSO members on the left coast.
Uncle Toys
PhantomChaos
Cigarette1

also check out Southern California Offshore Powerboat Elite www.scopeinfo.com and you'll run into several OSO'ers as members of that organization

Welcome!
You are correct, most Baja's are in the midwest and east coast, because they are made in Ohio. You will still see some though. The river is a great place for a 20 Outlaw, Havasu & Parker are a blast. Lake Mead is my favorite, and Mohave is fun also. SCOPE is mostly made up of large boats 30+ feet. They are nice people though. Try www.socalhotboats.com or if that doesn't work the american hot boat association So Cal chapter is the same place. You would probably boat more in the same places they do. A 20 ft boat can make Catalina, but be careful, it can get rough even for a big boat. If you go leave early and come back before 12-1 pm. Another good place to meet So Cal boaters is Hotboat.net Enjoy your new boat!

Hope you have a great season. Be prepared though, you have just been bitten by the bug and each season you will want BIGGER & FASTER $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Congratulations! But like Dock said, beware of Baja "disease of the feet":D I started off with a Hammer and ended up with a 33;)

Thanks for all the input guys (and gals)!

Dock and BajaDude, I'm trying to be careful but I can see how one could easily get that bug to go big. After lurking on this site for a while I can see the advantages of more feet. Even though it is easier to make a small boat go fast, it seams you can go faster through more water with a bigger boat.

Well, I'll be content with what I've got for a while (Thinking Procharger already though and haven't even got it in the water yet!).

Skygod - where in SoCal are you? Maybe I'll see you one the water. I'll be in Parker over Memorial Day (Blue Water Casino).

Thanks again!
