Part number for prop shaft
 

I need a new prop shaft and am trying to save a few bucks and get it online vs. my local repair shop.

Can anyone tell me how to get the original part number and size etc for my prop shaft.

I have a 97 232 Islander with a 7.4L and a Bravo 1 drive.

Second question, is it ok to get an aftermarket prop shaft (making sure it's the right size, strong enough etc), or should I stick to a genuine Mercruiser part?
