I'm Luv-N-It, Luv-N-It! ;)
I had a great time and the boat performed fantastic. The water was pretty stirred up most of the time but I could run faster than a lot of other boats even though they had more power. Speaking of power, that is my only complaint.....I need more! It goes fast enough but a little slow coming out of the hole and on plane. Once I had four people in the back seat and one up front and the boat would not come on plane. I had to get one of the guys to stand forward to get the bow down. I did rig my spare prop, tool kit and a bunch of other stuff in the engine compartment so I don't think that helped any. I relocated a bunch of that to under the bow and it helped the planing problem as well as made the ride a little smoother. I'm now thinking Procharger! Other than that, the boat rocks! I got a lot of comments on it and everbody in my group loved it. They all wanted to ride with me rather than my buddy's Ultra. Also got a lot of attention at the Roadrunner when I got lucky and got a tie up right in front. Great weekend and great boat! |
Nice Truck as well!!
What sort of lift does it carry and how big are the tires?:) |

Darin @ Houston Propellers is the man. Great quality, stands behind his work and good prices most of all. |

Thanks for the comments. The truck is a 2001 GMC Sierra C3 edition. They only made about 2900 of these. It is the predecessor to the Denali truck without Quadrasteer. It has a 6.0 gasser with aluminum heads, 325HP/370FtLbs torque. I’m running an RCD 6” lift with 315-70/17’s (about 34” tall). It has 3.73 gears and I can’t really tell any difference with the bigger tires (it came with 17” wheels, about 28” tall). It pulls the boat like a dream. When I’m running with my buddy’s I set the cruise and usually have to slow down for several miles after every hill to let them catch up. The truck just powers up and over like they were flat. Did Chiraco summit headed to Parker last week and did Grapevine today. I maintain 70 MPH on cruise control without a problem.
I’ll check out the prop labbing thing. How to I get a hold of Houston Props? -A Here’s a pic at Pyramid. |
Nice 20 OL, Fresh!
Looking good out there! :) |
Congrats,
Do you have tabs, if not that will help you plane much better/faster with loads in the boat. |
