272 Advise
Fellow OSOers
I have a 96 272 closed bow. The anchor locker up front gets some water in it occassionally and I can't get it to drain. Have any of you had this problem? Really not looking forward to getting to it underneath. |
blow some air through the drain hold from the outside in to make sure its not clogged.

I had the same problem with my boat. Same year and model as yours. Got tired of seeing water in my locker too. Examined the drain in the locker and it was still sealed from the factory (I assume) with silicone. Took out the silicone and it drains without a problem.

Guys,
I already tried the air blower. No luck. As far as silicone, I don't think that is the problem either. I pulled the screen and have tried using a coat hanger to auger the hose. It only goes in 2 or 3 inches then stops. Any other advise is greatly appreciated. |
Hmmm…. I have a 29 Outlaw and the anchor locker has a direct drain hole on the side of the hull. Any water in the locker goes right out that hole. I can’t imagine a locker without such a hole. If yours doesn’t have such a hole, perhaps you can make one.

Mine did the same thing. I had to take the speakers out of the front section in front of the v-berth, assumming you have these speakers, to access the drain hose. Mine had a 90 degree fitting with hose clamps. I took them loose, cleaned the lines, now it works fine, good luck.

You were right on target. Pulled the speakers and replaced the hoses. Drains properly now. THANKS!!!! |
