302 helpfull thoughts
 

Hi all, first time to the forum. I'm looking to buy a 96 302 off of a friend of a friend. Is it a good starter boat? Any advise about the boat? it does have the 7.4's in it with around 240hours. Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the board.

It's a helluva nice starter boat. It may be alot of boat to get used to if you don't have much boating experience.

The hours are low. How well do you know him? Has the boat been well cared for? Is the price right?

1996 is the first year they made the 302. They haven't changed much since. It's a real solid, proven ride.

I have a 96 with 502 mags. Just be aware with 7.4s you are not going to crack 65... I'm happy with mine, really solid compared to my Shooter (272)
