That's what my buddy is telling me. I'm moving up from a 27' cuddy cabin. How well does a boat like this handle the chop?

You will love it. I don't know why everybody wants a 30 OL when they can have a 33 for about the same price. Cockpit is huge and boat rides on rails. Mine has 500 efi's and will almost get 80 mph. Love it.

I was out on Conroe in nasty washing machine chop and it was a nice ride, awesome handling:cool:

With the 496 HO's the speedo showed about 76 mph...Did'nt get to GPS but I have been told a solid 75mph by several people. The economy is great too.

From what I read I'm figuring about 74-75MPH. It will be a little while until I can take a ride since it's about 15 degrees here.

If you have the HO's you're right on with speed...But it sounds like you're up north a ways so you might be a bit faster.

mike0311 01-11-2004 04:01 PM

yes they are the HO's. Why is it faster up north? Is it temperature, altitude or salt water? I think I covered them all .

D. All the above;)

I honestly have no idea because I have never boated up north. Paul Fiore was explaining to me the other day that my boat will run faster at the factory in RI than in the humid TX heat. I am sure someone else can explain it with a better understanding than I have.

the water up here is frozen most of the time, so the boats will glide better. just tested the theory with my truck, slammed on the brakes and i slid forever, almost felt like i accelerated. i almost can remember when there was no snow and ice and there was liquid water on the road and i stopped. from this test it makes it obvious that boats in the north run faster.
