29 outlaw general info
 

as you know i just bought the 04 29ol. Ive owned other boats but never twins. got lots of questions going thru my head. is there anthing about 29ol that i need to look out for problems, fit and finish issues, performance issues or whatever! any and all info will be appreciated. thanks :)

the front light when you anchor and your boat start moving left to right. It can get torn it off.

get ready for the 3 foot itch, it just around the corner.

keep a quart of drive oil with you. mine seemed to need topped off quit a bit unit I changed to synthetic.

you will have a **** eatting grin on your face for the first hour or so everytime you take it out.

Very nice boat.

I know the feeling, I went from a 272 single to the 36 Outlaw.

Don't worry about the quality, it is there. If you do notice any issues bring them to your dealers attention immediately and get them fixed as quickly as possible.

Almost every boat I have owned has had a small stress crack or two after about two to three months of operation. I usually show the dealer and have them fixed at the end of the season. This is normal and so far I have not had any to return.

You will get out of it what you out into it. I service my engines every 20 hours, new oil & filter. I use to service the drives every 40 hours but have moved that up to 20 to 30 hours. Use the Merc oil for the first 20 hours, changing it at 10 hour intervals, then you can use what ever you want. I have had GET luck with Mobile 1, 15W50. As for the drives, stay with the Merc High Performance Gear Oil.

Take it slow and easy and by the end of this season you will be a pro, and like dstroyed said, will be really for a bigger boat!:D

Of course your good friend Ellis should be able to make that happen easily enough!:D

the bow light on my 29 ripped off by the anchor line[like said above:D ] just take good care of it and you will get top dollar on trade in some day[store inside, flush after use, change oil every 20to 25 hours, ect]

Loop the anchor line through the bow eye,
then run the remainder of the line up to the
front cleat, then secure. ( it took me two
front lights to figure this out :rolleyes)

The only "boat" issue I have had is some
minor upholstery sticthing problem on the
rear deck and upper back seat area,
but, mines 5 years old and thats a highly
used area, I really can't complain.

Mine has no noticeable stress cracks:D

and just enjoy it:D :D

When I got my 29, the little alarm thing that makes the noise when you're low on fluid was hanging down behind the dash in a way where opening the cabin door hit it. I had to pull the dash panel off and tie wrap it up out of the way. Other then that, no problems here.

Also - Check my post called "Bare A$$". You're gonna have fun cleaning your 29's a$$.
