Props for a 302 ???

Well my 302 is still at the factory getting fixed but I really need to re-prop it. Where is the best place to get props. Would like a set of 4 blades

Heres my boat specs

2001 302
Stock 3 blade props turning about 5100 rpms with no trim

454 mag mpi's bravo 1

I would like some more speed of course but what I really want are props that are not going to break loose so easily. Any help would be great.

I am running Bravo I's (26P), four blade, on my 302 and I am very happy with them.

Dail,

Do you have the same engines ect. I just want to make sure I buy the correct prop. Also what brand of prop did you buy?

Thanks

I have a set of 23p Hydromtive Q-4's in perfect condition.

If you want the most speed, stick with the Mirage Plus. I have had mine worked by Houston Prop. I've been considering putting Bravo's on, but it will cost you about 3-5 mph I have been told. I don't have too much of a problem planing out or the nose being carried with the extra cupping Houston added. BTW - I have 502's with 25 pitch before labbing was done to them.

You will definately have a better cruise speed and gph numbers, but you will lose speed compared to 3-blade.

No offense to notched, but Hydromotives are not the prop for a Baja. Bajas like bow lift - just speaking from my exerpience with the three I have owned.

Bravo's and Hydromotives ran the same on mine.
These also have diffuser rings. You will loose about 2mph from top end but gain it everywhere else. You would need to be spinning 24p three blades in the 5200 range to handle the extra diameter of the four blade 23's.

ALL good advice from the others who know, but your three blade props can be customized to work great and not blow out like they are ,you need to send them in and have the ACCLERATOR design which should pickup about 3 mph or using four blades will drop your speed but improve in other areas such as handling.

here is a picture of our ACCLERATOR DESIGN,what we do is re work your existing props,Thanks Darin >281-580-PROP(7767);)

Hi,

I switched to a Bravo on my last boat, a Shooter, and then again I also addeda blown 454.

What speed did you get witht the 25's and then with the Bravo 26's.

I like the bravos but this tubby Baja needs all the help it can get.

Ironmanwb,

What pitch are you turning now? 23"? 24"?

Ironmanwb 02-13-2004 04:19 PM

I 'm not really sure they are the stock props I think they are 24 pitch 3 blade mirages
