Hey Houston Prop

I have a 33Outlaw with 500efi's and 28 p 4 blade bravos. Speed about 77 speedo, no GPS. My question is: should I have these props labbed or should I buy 3 blades and have them labbed, and keep the bravos for spares. Love the plane speed and midrange of the bravos, but would like to touch 80 if possible. Will it slip with 3 blade and what size do you recommend? Also. will accelerator work for me?

Thanks
Bret

What year is your Outlaw? Did it come from the factory with 4-blades? The later model Outlaws have a higher x-dimension that requires 4-blade props. Judging by your speed and the fact that you are only running 26s tells me that your boat probably has the lower X.

HIGHER X DIM??

RIC,I know its higher?? but I think a 1/2 maybe (not alot)

I, would go with some Mirage plus converted to our ACCLERATOR PROPS.

RIC, he mentioned he is running 28's not 26 pitch props.

Give me a p.m. and I will call you we can PROP TALK:D

LOOK AT THE BLADE THICKNESSABOVE

,AND- NOW below is a STOCK-mirage, check out how massively thick it is ,ready to wipe out a prop shaft and more if you hit something hard. The thinner the easier to spin. :D

one more thing, you need spair props this will save you from ever having down time on props ,so lab the 28's:D and call me and we will get some ACCLERATOR PROPS READY TO GO.:D

I, am sure your boat deserves it and so do you.

I, had saw someone posted one time it's only money!

Hey Darin whats the latest on my 27's. They are going to have to be right on the money the first time because tweaking them means I'll be without them most of the boating season.

Hey Darin-Look forward to receiving my props --Hopefully by next Wed. Leaving Thurs. am heading south for pokerrun..

Ric232,
Boat is a '98 with 2000 500efis. Props are new. I love the hole shot and midrange but Rod at Performance says it will touch 80 with 3 blades. I just don't want to lose the bite the 4 blades give. My Fountain took forever to come up on plane and slipped bad in turns. Don't want that again.

Darrin,
Sent oyu a pm. Your box is full.

I've actually heard 2". Anyway, the 1998 model has the lower X. Mirage Plus should work well. I'm pretty sure post #1 originally said 26P.

Bret

I have a 2000 33 Outlaw I repowered with 500hp's that Rod worked over. I had 27 Mirage plus props that slipped horribly. Instead of waiting for the 27's to get labbed last summer I bought some labbed 26 Bravos and lost a solid 6 mph. Mercury Racing said not to run 4 blades on that boat and they were right. I shook more things loose in one weekend with the 4 blades than I ever shook loose in 2.5 years with the three. The 4 blades were awesome in holeshot and in turns you could lay the rub rail in the water but i could never lift the bow high enough to let her run and therefore the nose wanted to plow thru waves at the Ozarks. Darin is labbing my 27 and says hey can put the holeshot and handle in the three blades. They are on their way and I am anxious to try them.

I was told that we have a 2" lower X than the newer 33's

HOUSTONPROP 03-27-2004 09:08 AM

Ric,I still wished you would move to Texas and start working props with me:D You definitely know your stuff when it comes to boats and props.Have a great weekend.;) later Darin

if we had to tweak them  we would make sure they are done in two days ,and shipped back to you for the weekend .As most of the work would be done,it would be a matter of fine tuning.Don't worry.;)

my buddy has a 01 33 with efi's and mercury labbed 30'' bravos running 77.1 gps, when it had imco -2'' it ran 80.5 gps I would suggest labbed 30'sunless you run in shallow water, unless the 3 blades will get you on plane then I would say 27 mirage plus, the 02 and newer 33's won't budge with 3 blades the x is to high

liquid asset 03-28-2004 07:25 PM

The reason I say run in shallow water is becausethe thinned blades lose some strength , we found out the hard way the first time out

BRET 03-29-2004 06:02 AM

Thanks liquid.
Mine is a 98. I only ran it twice but it seemed like it wouldn't break loose with the bravos. Of course rhere was no chop either time. I'm going to put some seat time in it before I spend the money on mirages and have them labbed. If I can get the performance from the labbed bravos maybe I'll go that way.

Darin,

I have been waiting patiently for over two months now for you to lab a pair of 27's. Many ship out dates have come and gone. Last shipping date was last Friday as mentioned above. Are the props still there? Have they been touched yet? If they have been shipped can you send a tracking number? My two weeks has turned into two months now. Beginning to wonder if they will ever make it back to Illinois.

HOUSTONPROP 04-02-2004 11:47 PM

props are shipped

will give you the tracking number ON Monday ,they may be there by then sorry it took so long.I have no excuse other than we are extremly busy. sorry again,Darin
