Painting windscreen on outlaw

Has anyone painted their plexiglass windscreen on an outlaw. Seen one in a magazine painted and it looked pretty nice. Was wondering if anyone had done this and if there were any pictures or advice. Any info is appreciated.

Windscreen Painting

Great Question!!!!
I tried to find a white one for my outlaw..NO GO..
So I was thinking about paint.....

The bottom third of the windsreens are painted white on the stock ones. Mine had rubbed through the paint in a couple places so I repainted mine. I would think any one who paints cars would be able to do the job. You would just need to rough up the plexiglas a little where the paint would stick.

It does look really good. I seen a 25 outlaw in an issue of baja's magazine at the end of summer last year. They were doing an article on a poker run somewhere and it was tied up at a dock in the picture. I have wanted to have mine done ever since. Just wanted to make sure the paint dosn't come off. I will let you know what I find out. Dosn't seem to be to many responses yet.

I don't know if it will work for marine use but Zinser/ Zinseer ( I'm not sure how you spell it) but I have used it to paint glass, tile and all kinds of shiny stuff that paint doesn't normally stick to. This is only a primer but there are all kinds of paints you can top coat it with.

Any local hardware store, Wal-mart or Sherwin-Williams carries it.

Be sure it is the glass primer though --- they make a ton of products.

It can be painted. The most important part is in the surface preparation. A good body shop will be able to handle this for you. They have an additive called flex agent that they add to the paint when painting car parts that are plastic. As we all know, there are lots of plastic pieces on cars these days.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I will try to figure out how to post a pic when I complete this. After seeing the picture of steelware's boat on the Lake Norman thread, I think I will take my vents on the side and rear and have them painted the same color as the windscreen. That boat looks sweet. I have a bodyshop lined up to take them to this week.
