Not big on cutting holes..

98 Hammer

After installing a new stereo system (followed the recommendations of this forum) I decided to install another battery, just for the stereo.

Again, with more suggestions from this forum, I was hoping some of you have suggestions on where to mount the battery switch. Since I already have grounds, one from the block to the battery and one from the block to the bolt referred to as the "ground bus".
The positives from the starter to the battery and from the starter to the "positive bus", I figure as follows;

add another ground from the block to the 2nd battery ground
add another positive from the starter to the switch common
use the existing positive from the 1st battery positive to switch B1
Add another positive from the 2nd battery positive to switch B2
(If I'm designing a failure here, please let me know)

question is, where have you mounted the switch itself. I prefer not to mount in the engine compartment. I do have an area under the bench seat where the "bus" bolts come through the wall that separates the engine compartment from the bench seat.

...or if you have suggestions that keep it out of the way but still accessible.

thanx in advance!

uner the rear bench next to the jump posts is where I put mine. Works great.

I mounted mine in the same place a Tank. Under the rear bench. There is a positive and a negitive post that go back to the battery that you can use to hook a battery charger to in case you drain the battery and can not get the hatch to work. If you mount the switch in the engine compartment, if you have a power hatch you will not be able to turn the batteries off.
