1990 Full Service
Started monday.
Boat taking on water, losing RPM. Turned out to be a "loose Y pipe" as only one screw was still in. Pulled the motor, cleaned it while out, changed oils, Aisyn in the drive, some nice hi quality stuff in the engine, new impellor in the drive, glass beaded the whole Mercathode system, cleaned fuel filter, checked fuel line, needed replaced, as we started to remove it from the tank, the fitting came out because some knuckle head at the factory used a steel fitting on an aluminum tank. Had to pull the seats, floor, then tank, and Baja is full of surprises. Got a nice rusted 9/16 socket that is all original, and hasnt seen day light in 14+ years. Then redrilled the tank from 5/16 to 3/8 and have a new fitting going in, letting the water dry out tonight (mod secret). ;) All that is left, touch up Vertglas, reinstall tank, floor, seats, prop testing and she is done until the cold months. I love all of this. Before the tank goes back in, writing in name and date. Dont know why, just seems like the right thing to do. |
Re: 1990 Full Service
Hmm..... 4950RPM (4600 is where i need to be), 47mph on GPS not bad for a 14 year old V6 with over a thousand hours. :D
