33 Outlaw control cables
I'm going to be replacing my controls and figured I might as well replace all 4 control cables at the same time. Does anyone know the length (starboard and port), or where I can find this out?
Thanks. |
Re: 33 Outlaw control cables
Most cables have a part number within a foot or so of the engine end. The number will include the length in either inches or feet such as P179923 where 23 is feet.

BTW-if you are gonna do it, get the Teleflex TFXtreme cables-they work better than any I've used. Well worth the extra cost.

Re: 33 Outlaw control cables
I e-mailed Baja customer service from their web site. But still I waited until I had the old out (so I could measure it) to order the new one!!
Word of advice!! It's not as hard as what I thought it would be!! (I just did it over the weekend!) I used some small nylon string (the kind used to blow through PVC pipe to pull cable) I tied it to the end I undid from the helm and as I pulled the cable out the string followed. then when the new cable came in I just tied it to the string and pulled it through. It was a two man job, because I wanted to make sure I didn't "kink" the new cable!! *would it have been easier to go from the front-back instead of the back-forward.....yes, but then the cable on the outside of the boat would have had scuff's on it!! Good luck!! |
Re: 33 Outlaw control cables
Thanks guys,
I'll check to see if they're labled. I was planning on using 33C supreme cables. Figured if I was going to replace the controls, might as well do this now too. |
Re: 33 Outlaw control cables
Checked the cable ends and no labels. I'll see how I make out with Baja.
