Whats the fastest 272 anyones seen ?????
 

Whats the fastest 272or shooter anyones ever seen or heard of?How fast can you really go in one of these ? My 2000 272 will run 83 (gps)any day of week w/4 people,3/4 tank of gas,2 coolers,84.9 2 people 1/4 tk gas,best of 85.1 w/ 10 gals race gas and everything off boat that isn't bolted down. 540 w/procharger & efi,lightnings,9psi boost,30 pitch lab,full hyd strng,modified x/r 1.50,stock length drive,extended trim tabs,msd 6 btm,14 qt oil pan,big oil cooler,Dana race mounts w/ big L brackets. Please post speeds,engine combo,prop,and any other modifications ,drive length and dyno #'s if you have them. I also seen a post from a member that sounded like a exstension box might be worth 3-4 mph. I Hope to see some real interesting stuff,Smitty

I know of a 272 that will run a solid 82 GPS. 502 procharged, extension box, k-planes, 30? prop, hyraulic steering.

NO 272's out there w/sc900's or gas turbines?No one else trying to make a nice family boat just outright dangerous? Everytime i head out into bay and the 3-5 footers start kicking up and i have to turn around and head back to river i ask myself WHY DO I KEEP SPENDING MONEY ON THIS LITTLE 272 instead of just getting a 38 ft boat? But it sure is fun hearing the motor scream when conditions are right,speed IS addicting!!!!

Mine runs 80 on a good day, but the hull is not designed for 80+, be careful or it will turn into an airplane!

I've got a 97 272 ,502mpi w/procharger and stern jack w a 30p 4 blade runs 82 on gps. should see 85 before the end of the summer. I would try it w/out the jack but it's a pain in the ass too swap it out. Has anyone done a comparison?

Hmmm, Ken, I just so happen to have done a comparison on your boat when the boat was stock. How are you and my ex doing? When stock, the boat was 62-63mph and I added the stern jack to 67mph, then exhaust to 68 mph, then Procharger to 80-82 mph. What are you planning to do to get to 85mph?
