Re: Paging Dock Holiday
Guys,
I will be sure and take some pictures tonight and post them. What I did was replace the existing hardware with Hiwin Linear rail and bearing blocks. This is the type of stuff we sell for robotics. It is probably overkill, but it worked GREAT in my application. This is a link to Hiwin that will show you what I used. http://www.hiwin.com/lg/index.html If you are interested in doing it I will sell you the rail and blocks at cost. |

Some pictures as promised.
This rail is VERY stiff and solid. There are bolt holes every 50 MM (2 Inches) approximately which is more than five times the stock unit. |

Steve Like the original factory system I did not try and put any screws in that area. It would be almost impossible. The rail I used as about 8 - 10 screws exposed in the entry way, and it is VERY solid. Not having the ones in that enclosed area is not a problem. I think the factory aluminum channel only had about three screws holding it, so this is much stronger. As for height, it was a perfect fit on my boat. I did not even have to adjust the latch on the door. It could not have worked any better on mine. |
