If you have seen it and know that it is truly a 9 out of 10 I would say mid $50k's to low $60k's if it was my coin...But then again I am just taking a guess :D

I think the 310s hurt it some. Fairly often see others with those motors at 50ish. If it had mags it would be a real big plus.

its a friends boat, and i know the maintanence records from new. ive driven it several times and i would give it a 9

Ive only seen one other under 50, and it was a 6 out of 10 and had over 800 hrs

I come to that conclusion based on how much I think my boat’s worth. My boat is a 2001 and has 496HO’s and 125 hours. I recently listed it for $71,500. It’s my observation and belief that 29 Outlaws depreciate at a rate of about $6,000 per model year. If all other factors were equal, it would make the 1998 worth $53,500 ($71,500 minus $18,000). Since it only has 7.4mpi engines and my boat has 496HO’s, I would then subtract another $8,000 (conservatively) from the price of the 1998. That would now make the 1998 worth $45,500.

BTW – I realize my boat’s probably worth more like $80,000 but I’m a crusader. We’ve all become so disgusted with the high price of new boats I figure I’ll do my part to make buying a used boat an attractive alternative just to screw some dealer somewhere. It’s the least I can do.

Even with the "small motors" I would think
$ 45 k would be a good deal.

Make shure it doesn't have the 29 o/l stinger disease :eek:

29 Outlaw has a great formula...Have a survey(even though you know the boat well) and if all checks out buy it. For mid $40k's you should be in great shape.

I say 45,000 or there is a 2000 with mags buy me needs little cosmetics for 58000 or offer with mags. Or better yet , a perfect 95 32 with 502 efi's for 52,900 LOL, look at the pics on www.laketravisboatsales.com. It runs 70 gps, but you know that, you saw it at the april run

My formula is not rocket science. It’s just based on common sense vs. people pulling numbers out of their a$$.

Anyway – a while back I stated on this forum that 29 Outlaws seem to depreciate at a rate of about $6,000 a year. Someone was quick to reply that he plans on waiting 12 years so that he can buy my 29 Outlaw for $0.00. I say “no problem”. Call me in 12 years and I’ll give you directions to my nursing home. You can come by and pick it up. I’ll leave the light on for you.

MADMAX is correct. He will be the new owner of my boat taking delivery after the holidays. I held back on saying anything on this forum since it’s really his business and not mine.

Nevertheless, he will definitely be out in the front. I never realized how few boats there are that can actually run 80mph until I owned one that runs 79. At the bar, everyone has an 80mph boat. I now know that’s not true because in the 4 years I’ve owned my 29, I didn’t get passed very often.

My 29 has 496HO’s vs. regular 496’s. There’s a school of thought that says the 3-4mph difference gained by the HO’s is not that much and folks always slam me for spending extra to gain only 3-4mph. I say bull!! In the real world, 3-4mph is HUGE!! If I’m running 78 and the chump in the other 29 Outlaw is running only 74, after only 15 seconds I’m going to be almost 150 feet ahead. After a minute, he’s just a speck on the horizon. To me, that’s priceless.

Anyway, MADMAX is getting a killer boat and I hope he enjoys it as much as I have.

Yes, there seems to be a lot less 80 mph boats out
there than there actually are :rolleyes: :D

By using some of the mathematics from some of the
owners of boats I have run up against, I'm convinced
my boat runs 90-100 mph :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Survey passed with flying colors. needs a tach (which he already bought, just hasnt replaced. it was missing a bearing buddy cover, and had a small stain in the carpet, that the owner already cleaned out.

He said that was ALL he could find wrong. no stringer problem and he said he usually doesnt compliment a boat, but it was in excellent condition.

I asked him what he would give it on a 1-10 and he gave it a 9.5 :evilb:
