Re: Hey guys need help
I use a Mirage Plus 23 Pitch 3 Blade Prop. My rig is a 2003 25 Outlaw with a 496HO. I had to have Darin at Houston Propeller lab it and turn it up to a 24 pitch because I was hitting the rev limiter. So I would say Mirage 23 Pitch just like the one I have. I would recomend sending it to Darin at Houston Propeller for labbing. You can phone him at 281-580-prop.
Here are a couple currently on ebaY. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26456 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26456 |

Re: Hey guys need help
Not to highjack, but if you are interested I have a 24 pitch bravo prop in perfect shape... $250 plus shipping and it's yours...... I'm not sure if the 25 outlaw prefers a 3 blade or a 4-blade, but somebody should be able to tell ya.... e-mail me at [email protected] if your interested.....

Re: Hey guys need help
mirages (3 blades) are odd pitches I.E. 23, 25, Bravo 1's (4 blades) are even I.E. 22, 24, 26 each has a pro and a con,, for a 25 o.l. and the best overall holeshot and handling I would say a labbed 24 bravo 1, for best top speed, labbed 25 mirage.

Re: Hey guys need help
A 23P Mirage or 22P Bravo 1 will be your best bets.

Re: Hey guys need help
I'll check tonight but I'm pretty sure I have a Mach sterndriver 22" 4 blade that is in like new condition (only used a couple of times for testing). I know it would work very well on that boat. My old Outlaw ran the best with a 26" mach. This prop gives plenty of lift and holds the water very very well.
I"ll let it go for $200.00 plus freight. Let me know at [email protected] |
Re: Hey guys need help
A labbed 25 M+ is too much prop, IMO.
I had a 25 Outlaw with a 502/415 and a labbed 23 M+ and it was just about right. So I would think that the 23+ could be turned down just a touch to allow for the 385hp and be close. |
Re: Hey guys need help
23 mirage is the ticket
|
Re: Hey guys need help
Like I said, labbed 25 mirage or a labbed 24 B1..

Re: Hey guys need help
I've had both, 24 and 25 outlaws, both with 502's and light mods, like cmi's K&N'as and computers, and 23 is the best prop all around for these boats, 25 would be to much labbed or not. And actually a 25 mirage would compare to a 26 bravo, due tue the way they are conservetavly pitched and the smaller diamater, a labbed 24 would be the prop if you wanted a 4 blade, but that boat will have better results all except cruise with the mirage plus 23" and running as close to 5,000 as you can get

Re: Hey guys need help
Hey all I am new to the board and always appreciate peoples input. I just got a new 245 w a 496 mag that has a 23 mirage plus and it will sit on the rev limiter with 3 people and a half tank of gas. will labbing the prop to a 24 pitch be the best way to go? I think the rev limiter is around 5200 and the recommended rpm on the 496 mag is 4800. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Hey guys need help
If your running 5200 with a 23" you probably be better of with a labbed 25"
|
Re: Hey guys need help
Depending on how its labbed, a 25 could run even higher than a 23.. Best thing I ever tried on my baja was a labbed 26 B1, sure the rpms were a bit low but I got a best ever of 65 mph on GPS, where as with a 23 mirage plus I was usually around 62. hole shot and handling were MUCH improved over the 3 blade also..

Re: Hey guys need help
Try a 22" Turbo Vector that's what I had on my 25' with the same power, great prop, ran right at 5050 rpm and ran 67.5 on gps.Precision Propeller 800-922-9955 you won't be sorry.

Re: Hey guys need help
Well all I can say is ask the experts, at mercury , or yorks or bronson hill and use trial and error, I tried all those on my 24, with a 502 and light mods and the 26 bravo labbed by bronson hill spun a wopping 4400, The best for me was a 23 spinning 5200 ( rev limiter was raised to 5400), Ive spent money on it and done some research and I almost always return to a mirage, however right now I am running Hydromotive QIV's on my 32
