Which Stereo System Would You Go With??
 

Im taking the 29 in next week for the stereo. The guy has done custom jobs in 29 and here are the 2 options im looking at.

1. 4-6x9's in the cockpit, 6-10's across the back bench

2. 4-6x9's in the cockpit, 2-15's underneath mounted on the end of the storage closets facing the front. in this option i would lose the storage compartment.

the guy told me the 6-10's option would be louder and have quicker response, the 15's would be deeper, but not as loud. im leaning toward the 10's to save the storage lockers.

what do you guys think---also about the same money either way.

option #1. it will be plenty LOUD and CLEAR, and keep the storage. w/4 10's under my bench i still have all the storage. check to see if they will reinforce around the speakers for the vibs.

6 10s sounds like overkill. I have 2 and it is plenty loud.

Have you thought about two (or 3 like JL likes to run) 12" subs under the seat? The tens are quick to respond and give the thump alot better. the 15's are good for the real low bass. 12's are the perfect speaker and handle both sounds well.

Have you also thought about seperates instead of 6X9's. Better overall sound. the mids tend to drown out the tweeters when speakers are a 2 or 3 way. seperates are crisper.

Here ya go. They have fully enclosed boxes behind them that are fiberglassed in case they get wet.

If I were starting over I would do 1- JL 12w7 were the pottie is with a JL 1000.1 pushing it and 6 seperate 6 1/2's in the cock pit with a 800.4 running those, but Im sticking with what I got and building a custom box for my 2 12's were the potti is, mines out any way for storage. But for space I say bikini's is the perfect way and sounds great. I would hate to have 6- 10" holes across the bench, but that JL 12w7 rocks like no sub I've ever heard if you want earth shakin bass. They retail for abouy 800 bucks but you can pick them up on ebay for about 375-400
