Re: poker run boat

Due to a problem at the display booth the engines could not be seen. The hatches ate see though and has lighting. Unfortunately without power we could not raise the hatches without pulling the rip cord.

Oh well I'm sure someone will be able to get some pics later

Actually the engines are 850 merc's. They damaged the shrouds for the 850's and put the 1075 shrouds on it for the show.

Here Bob! There's a brand new feature that actually "rotates" the picture 90 degrees counter-clockwise. :drink:

We just got back home from Miami. The boat is really killer.

Besides the Cigarettes, I think this 40 was the hottest thing there!

Yes, Jeff is correct, they are NOT 1075's as it looks like. They are in fact the new 850's.

Thanks Blane and JR great to see and talk with both of you, and what a party at the Clevelander!!!!!!!!!

Hey Doc,

Are you able to walk on any of the engine hatch area?

vette131 02-20-2005 08:45 PM

Re: poker run boat

the rumor at the show was $700,000. the bolsters were so close together you had to climb in from the top. i guess the
full stagger ate alot of cockpit. cool boat but 700,000 puts you in outerlimits land.

No I don't think so. At least I did not see anyone walking on it.

Really did not look safe, I would hate to walk on that nice paint, not sure the plexiglass would hold people of not. Plus that wing would be dangerous, I see it getting broken off in the real world!

But you have to hand it to the folks at Baja for sticking it out there.

I was going to say..... What the hell would they need a swim platform otherwise??

I agree. Baja is one very fine boat for many reasons including the non-integrated swim platform (outlaws) that so many builders like to tack on to the length. But they may be getting a bit big for their britches in the price department.

That thing is bad a$$!!! I don't think they built it to sell many.....It's just like the 420 stepped boat; they just built it to show they could!

There was no doubt in my mind that they could, they make a great performance boat. In fact, I have shopped for many different brands and you'd be hard pressed to find a performance boat with the sleeping room of a baja. Most boats in that department is a joke. Except for Cig of course.
