Re: questions for the experts!
I broke the center piece of the windshield on my Baja 232 and it cost over 250.00 just for the glass panel... I would imagine all the glass plus the aluminum frame would be WELL over a grand if you could get Taylor to supply you with one,, mine was a 96 and it was already discontinued.
I would expect mid 60's My floor cracked under the bolster also, removed the center section and re-glass it, held fine, but If seriously interested I would have a survey done,, sounds like there could be some rot too... and check around they may have or have had a fairing avaiable for it,, much cheaper, looks better, wont fall in your lap in the rough stuff... |

Re: questions for the experts!
Tom,
I've seen that model with a short windscreen, a reverse short windscreen, and no windscreen. The ones I've seen have were 3 piece. I would almost guarantee you it would be over a grand for a new one. The ad said 330 hp 454 mags??? They would either be 330 hp 7.4's, or 365 hp 454 magnums. That boat should run about 65 with the magnums. Is 21k what they're asking ?...... seems cheap For the $$$ they're asking, I bet their definition of "needing a little work" may be different from what we all think. |

Re: questions for the experts!
Windshields are expensive!!!!
I just saw a 24 foot cuddy boat get an all new windshield and it was $2400.00. Would be surprised if you could get out less than $1500 to $2000.00. I would leave the windshield off and put a fairing on myself. But my concern would not be the windshield, but the overall boat itself. Looks like it needs a LOT of TLC and $$$$$. How much is the boat worth if it were in the condition you would want it in? My guess is less than you would have to spend to get in in that shape. With nearly 700 hours on the engines they definately need a rebuild. Which leads to the drives, what kind of shape are they in. Worst case you need two new motors and drives, I'm sure you have exceeded the value of the boat with new power. I have always been a little afraid of anything that has been reposessed. If you cannot pay for it, you probably could not afford to service it properly either. Also looks like it needs a trailer. Just my 2 cents worth. I bet if you did the math on repairs you could find a clean well cared for boat on the market for less money in the end! Good Luck Doc |
Re: questions for the experts!
Note they are liquidators and said to bid...no bargins out of these guys. Very sleazy, I have called on their boats b4.
Most have severe problems. |
