300 Es Prop Help
 

My best friend just bought a 1991 300 ES it came with a set of
"21 pitch props, that seems kinda small.. dose anyone have any info or recommendations on props for this boat ? it has stock454/365 engines and bravo drives ...thanks...

Not enough info. What's his top speed. What RPM is he running at top speed. What is a 454/396 ? Do you mean a 454 cid 385 hp. ? Is it a mangum motor?
21" pitch isn't necessarily too small if your running 50 mph at 4800 RPM?

21's might be ok for 330 hp 454's,
365's should be larger.

454 cid 365 hp sorry... He has,nt had a chance to run it yet still to cold up here... Just looking for someone who might have similar set up or same boat...

A friend of mine had a 93'
with 502's, he had 25's on it.

I would think 365's would be
turning 23's.

i have same boat 90 model and retro fitted a set of 96 454 mag efi 385hp's and i currently run 25 mirage plus's at 5100 no lab work or anything so either going to get 25's work on labbed ect or get a set of 27's and get them labbed and thinned out whatever houston prop thinks is best. stock they came with 23 for the smaller 454's and 25's when they had the mags. good luck
