Hey SOB's My name is Brandon and i raced a 21' Superboat at the race in Camden. I'll be racing at most of the OPA events next year rough water or calm as long as SOB's show up. as far as setup's goes for you guys i would imagine it would be pretty similar to Superboats. Mine was terrible for camden but it was a last minute thing. Next year i will be running a 300 on the transom NO Setback, trim tabs and some ballast up in the bow and a couple of other minor changes. I think thats the ticket and i figured i would share it with you guys. Big setbacks i think is major NO NO for rough water(especially on my 21, the 24's might be able to get away with some). Also form what i understand if we get enough boats it wont be "Bracket speed restricted" racing, which doesnt really matter because i doubt anybody will be running much over 70mph in rough water with an SOB. I look foward to racing and meeting you guys next year.

Brandon,

Congrats on the racing. I watched the video. Nice work.

Were you running trim tabs?

Dregs,

My race Banana has 17" of set back with the single set up.

How does it do in rough water?

The SB is chine walking in everything above 60 mph.
has 23P mirage prop, that will be the first thing to change. need a prop that can lift the bow,(and stern too)

Chris, what props were you runnning w your fridge?
any good ones to suggest?

Evan

(Now known as , "Big Johnson")

Superboat has 7' beam.

Banana has 8' beam.

I was running a 24p raker.

Fastest prop with the single V8 was a 27p raker and that is what Jeb won the worlds with.

I was going to start by dialing in the 24, then try the 27.

Re: SOB Racing next year

I didnt have Trim Tabs for the race this past season. The boat had a stock 200 12" of setback and didnt have any weight in the bow. AS far as props I like Trophy's a lot on the 21. Next year i will have tabs and a 300 on the Transom or close to it.
