Set-up of a SOB?

I know I have a long way to go before I start worrying about rigging. But I'll ask my questions anyways. How much setback should we be using? Also how long and wide trim tabs are best on our boats?

I would guess for your boats minimal setback and Merc Racing 280s K-Planes would be the way to go.

SOB racing Banana Boat.

17" of hydraulic setback and 380 k-planes.

If your crazy, mount them flat for extra speed and use a 20" shaft engine.

Re: Set-up of a SOB?

Hi all,
I'm putting a 6" bob''s Jackplate on my SOB I'm not adding a spacer or setback mount since the Superboat has a 8" (+/-) notched transom, but the guy I'm buying the Jack from has a 12" Stainless marine setback for sale around $400,
PM me for the # if interested.
Evan
