Lenght & Bean For Boat Cover
Hi, I picked up Air Dogs, From Adam, old boat and need to know the exact lenght and bean so that I can order a cover. Can anyone pass on the info please?
I know it's listed as a 24'er and I think it's a 7' bean but I want to be sure, thanks! |
I believe the dimensions of the boat are: LOA: 23' 11": Gunwake length 24'7": height, keel to combing 5'2"; Beam7'10" these numbers from the Banana Boat Co. web site.

Hi INXS2,
Welcome to the Banana board. I bought a full cover from West Marine and it fit perfectly and lasted about 4 years. It had a 5 year warranty so I called them and they sent it back and then they sent me a new one for free. I think it cost all of $300 and it had straps to attached it to the trailer. The dimensions are 23' 11" (or 24' if your rub rail has an insert) and the beam is 7' 10". Hope this helps. |
You can figure 8 foot beam. The specs were from the old brochure that was done in the 70's......Banana along with a lot of other boat companies, listed the beam at less than 8 foot due to the tough restrictions on trailering without a permit.
Back in those days, the total length of a tractor and trailer semi couldn't be more than 55 feet over all. Then the rules were opened up and we had trailers of 48 feet then 53 feet and even in Texas where you can run a 57 footer legally. The widths did the same thing and now are at 102 inches. |
I ordered a cover at discountboatcovers.com, it's called there Polygaurd brand, 5 yrs warrenty, and was only $275 with free deliverey. Thanks All!
