This is taking a lot of patience....and self control....because we have sitting around, just waiting for a good opportunity, a newly reconditioned #3 Speedmaster drive........of course that means we don't have to worry about horsepower anymore and those HP numbers would really climb, along with the $$$ for the engine work....don't you just love boating??

What we are trying to do here is come up with a simple package (carburetor) on a big enough engine to give good speed numbers (mid 70's and up we hope) and not cost a fortune to duplicate.

We feel this package would make a nice second boat for the guys with the big luxo barges with the zillion HP motors. With a boat like this, they could still go boating anytime they wanted and the motor would work every time. Now that is the boating we all love.

Next couple of days more testing and more patience and soon the little punch list will be complete.......anyone in the So Fla area this weekend keep your eyes open for a black bomber on the intracoastal.

The windshield will be on too.....finally !!!!!

Please share pics of that engine and the engine bay. What hp? ↲
What props are you thinking about? It seems both me and trojan runs BB/Bravo with high slip. ↲
Im above 20 percent no matter what prop i have tested. If i remember correct, i think trojan was the same?

I know you have a high drive height like me. did you try a maxus 5 blade by merc or a px5? I had to pull mine apart in sept because of a leak in the gas tank. which will go in next week then the motor goes back in after new glass work. my tank is across the bilge for balance. so no testing until spring for me. having 1st surgery in dec 16th one after so no winter running. but what 5 blades did you try, my baja had a 5'' propshaft height no box slip was 13 to 15% with a b1 4 blade. you guys should try a reman konrad since you have a tranny in the bilge. kurt has posted some good deals on remain drives in the swap before everyonce in a while theres one or two you could use your gimbal to keep cost down and run up to 800hp 800lbtq, plus its shorter than a trs so if your at stock drive height with the boat now the konrad would help more than a 3 plus props are the same as bravo or trs just bigger shaft like xr. good luck charlie. art

Still testing, but the boat can now be seen regularly between Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, both ocean runs and intracoastal.

The progress is coming by inches now, but we are still going in the right direction....stay tuned.
