Help with my hull
 

Hello Guys! I was wondering if you would be able to give me a little info about the hull I have. Its a 1985 Banana the hull id is BCV0030M85AO. When I bought the boat it was bright yellow. I was told that it was one of a few that was set up to run with twin outboards. I completely re did it last year and put on 2 2.5 280's. Looks like you have hull #30.

The transom cutout on the banana is all the same except for the first ones.

Single or Twin was doable on any of them, the question was whether the transom would hold up.

Transom knees were definitely helpful.

Got any more pic's of before and after?

Did your boat say "bottoms up" on the side before?

Thanks for all the comments guys! I do have quite a few pics of the restoration. I live in the US Virgin Islands and bought the boat from a dealer in St. Pete. When I bought it there was no name on it but it did have two windows in the cabin as well as two very very ugly headlights on the bow. The windshield was made out of plexiglass and the boat was covered in teak. It also had two old 225 opti's. When I took it in to repaint we also discovered there was quite a bit of transom rot so we replaced all the wood in the boat. Right now I am in the mid 80's if I can get some chop but im not getting the most out of the motors. I currently have them with no setback and theyre mounted way too low so Im only getting 6100-6300 RPM with 24 4 blade bravo 1's . This weekend I am going to finally raise the motors up a few inches and try to get the rest of the rpm out of them and I will let you know what I'm running. ehrenhen, Where is your prop shaft depth below the hull ? What are the max. your motors should run up to ? "HIGH LIFE"

I remember that boat. It was on a triple axle aluminum trailer. probably had the most teak I have ever seen on a banana.

The guy that rigged your boat with the exterior dual hydraulic steering really knew what he was doing. It was all knew then.

I looked into buying it when it was for sale, but I really wanted an I/O boat.



I think you should run Chopper prop's, not bravo's. 26p at least.

Looking at your video, it would give you more bow lift and air out your hull more.

It will be Faster.

Assuming you have counter rotating lowers, you can spin the prop's in if you want a mini rooster when you get on plane, 2 mph more, but loose stability and docking ability.

Or spin them out and probably be safer overall.

I would also run manual jack plates. Like 5" would work fine.

You have low water pick up's right?

Hull pick up would be better.

Did you make a fairing or is that just painted plexiglass?
