Safe arrival in New England

The molds for the 24's have arrived in New England safe and sound. The 39 and the 28 molds will arrive next week. The 24 plug hull and deck also came up this week and all that leaves in Florida is a small 24 foot trailer......and the Benihana, the 35 foot Cigarette.

A new chapter starts as we go back to our roots and make the boats the old school way...which equals...less expensive. Mat and roving and marine plywood. If anyone wants the exotic layups, that is now an option.

Hope to have some photos in a few months.

PS We are also looking to make a great deal for a hull and deck to be used as a race boat this year. If you have been waiting for a "deal" to start building your dream race boat, now is the time.

why are you selling? are you done with hp boats. I was hoping to see you out on the water this spring. I need to put some time on mine. I took mine up to 5000rpm once hit 80 with the tabs 3/4 down:eekdrop:. but I think we got it figured out. but thats what happens when you start with a new drive set up. mine should hit 95 to 100 when dialed in at 6000rpm. oh chuck left the sonic group, pm me I'll fill you in. good luck charlie on starting up, to bad you we couldn't make the numbers work on a blank 28 2 years ago. if I get my old sponsor back , going to run opa 400 class for some races. you guys would have a nice 600 class boat with the 24 good luck. thats cool, what power would you want in a 39? Gerry could rig turbines for what 1100 1300 mercs cost. may be less. for mild power maybe v10s 725s with there new drive.or go with a gellner 750 hp na built with the regular konrad hp,no box. thats working great on Jays 38tg. and would be a cheap combo. local builders jim ried or tom couglin. both could build 600 and up na stuff. I been happy with my 650hp Ried motor in the ol24. keep in touch spring is near.

boy would that be fun.... turbine engines.. hey what do you think Charlie... can we finally break 70MPH???? something to think about....

sp123 02-09-2012 01:45 PM

I have just one question.... how come everybody post that their boats go 500mph... but when I get involved 60 is my limit... I still cannot get it unless boating is like golf.... everyone is a pro until you play them.....

Sick Stinger 02-09-2012 09:09 PM

"1" word for you Cigarette. Has a chittering and does 70+ in style

sp123 02-10-2012 12:51 PM

but don't they cause cancer..lol

Almost everything is here now.

All the molds are here and the final piece that is due soon is the 32 foot Cary that will be resto'd as The Cigarette.

Things are developing in some strange ways up here..... now it looks like we may become involved in a high performance restoration shop, a transportation, storage and maintenance business for all brands of high performance boats.

One of my old employees from the early banana boat days, former racer and real estate developer wants to become involved with our high performance rebirth in New England. Once we get set up, we will have an open house so the fast boating Yankees can come and see.

Thanks Pat.

For anyone interested in superior service when moving their boat, I highly recommend OSP Transportation. On time and with excellent equipment, he has become a trusted HORBA and Banana Boat, go to source.
