Does anyone know this Banana?

This boat is for sale up in the Long Island area I think.

The powerboatlistings.com photo is old, but I think it's the same boat. It had a Merc 250 on it but it's being offered minus power. I come from the Checkmate world and would like some advice as to what to look for in these hulls. Is transom rot an issue? Any specifics to look for as far as the Stainless bracket is concerned? Either way, the price is attractive, I'd love to rig it with a honkin' OMC V8. Thanks in advance!

what is he asking now that has been for sale for about 5 years. i offered 5k once and he wanted to talk but i decided outboards arent for me.

if that is a port edgewood or w/e banana its probably rotted out, look in the thread on here by pasta they didnt even glass some of the bulkheads completely open wood.

If its a charlie banana probably fine, but its still old so rot could be an issue

A little early in this news, but for those who are interested.....

Starting in 2015. We are marketing the smaller boats, 24, 26, 28 and 30 footers in a different way.

They will be sold in stages:

Stage One.... will be hull and deck fastened together and fuel tank installed.
Stage Two .....will be as above with cabin and cockpit interior installed.
Stage Three....will be as above with steering and controls installed.
Stage Four.....will be as above to complete boat without power.

Each size can be purchased as Sterndrive, Outboard on Transom, Outboard on Bracket. Sport model / Center Console model.

We should have pricing finalized by December and published by the New Year.

My son is with me this week in Rhode Island while we work out the details, stay tuned

Did you ever buy the red banana?

I looked at buying it back in 1999-2000.

Guy named Jim owned it and it had twin OMC 235 egg beaters on it.

It used to be an I/O so it could be converted back easily enough I guess.

Transom was solid, boat was clean, but bracket was too much setback I thought.

I think he was asking like 14k back then.

A few years later I saw someone moved it to CT and dropped the power to a single OMC.

Later it ended up in NY with a single Yamaha.

If it is the same boat, then it was a good one.
