Kinda hard to protect yourself if it involves a manufacturer restamping serial numbers.
Imagine saving up for a toy and having it confiscated like happened to him and enjoying it by staring through a fence at it while it rots in the yard, unwinterized and unprotected.

That really sucks monkey balls! How did the boat title match the VIN #'s on the Hull? Did they get a duplicate title?

I don't think he was insinuating that it was legal, just that an unscrupulous boat builder would have the available resources to perpetrate such a scam with the proper documents... Not saying that they did in this instance but it would be entirely possible...

I asked that question because at least here in Canada I have attempted to do a PPS (personel property search ) on a piece of contruction equipment . And to my surprise that was not possible . Boats are the same . You would have to ask every lender if there was a loan on the item .
Not sure how well the police share information on stolen property . I hope they do comunicate with other countries .
Its a scarey world out there .

Not all the posts were bad but some had quoted bad posts in them and I'm too lazy to edit. Much easier to delete
