I have had 3 Performance trailers over the years, the last one that Bill built for us was about a year and a half ago. I Have been speaking with him over last two months about premature paint perforation and rust. The good news is he assured me he will fix it. At this point I'm waiting for him to pick up the Trailer on a return trip back to Lake George after dropping two trailers in Virginia. I'm optimistic that I will be able to follow up with a Bill is a man of his word post

So what started as a very negative "heads-up" warning from an un-happy customer, (and in my opinion-rightfully so) has turned into a positive thread for a new owner of a trailer company.
Isn't that how OSO is supposed to work?
Kudos to the site monitors for not pulling the thread.
And Best of Luck to the new owners. They got to see how word-of-mouth travels in the boating family,
both good and bad.

I've known Brock and his wife Kim for a number of years now and I can honestly say they are two of the nicest people I have ever met. They've owned a number of vehicles and boats through the years which were kept and maintained second to none. With their attention to detail I could only imagine how nice their trailers will be. Congratulations guys
Justin.

Way to go Brock and Kim. I don't need a trailer right now, but I will surely look you up when I do. Taking care of your customers sincerely will always net a positive experience for all!

That is exactly what I had hoped for and was very happy to reopen the thread for Brock to post. He PM'd me and I gave him a couple options.
I think this thread shows that the initial incident 14 years ago was an isolated one.
All the positives posted about the company demonstrate that they are committed to building a high quality product

GETTING THE POSITIVE WORD OUT!!!
PERFORMANCE CUSTOM TRAILERS - UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

Performance Custom Trailers has been in business for 27 years!

Originally in Lake George, Bill & Dianne Bunting expanded and moved the company to Warrensburg, NY.
NOW, NEW OWNER, BROCK PETROSSO will continue to expand and enhance the business throughout the Lakes region.

Brock grew up in Lake George with his family as a child, and moved to the RI area while keeping close ties to the lake, and now Brock and his wife Kim have made a permanent residence here. An avid boater and outdoorsman, Brock worked his entire life in the family painting business where he prides himself on quality and excellent customer service. He has owned many performance style boats, and you might see him on the lake with his newest 24' Superboat or cruising around town at sundown with his custom 1969 Dodge Dart Pro Street Convertible.

Robert “Boober” Thompson will continue to provide his expertise as our head welder /fabricator, as a 27 year employee, we are proud to have him on board.

Give us a call or stop by to talk about some of our newest ideas such as exterior cosmetic changes and modern lighting on our trailers.

Congrats on new ownership
I inherited one of these trailers with a purchase of a OL-53

Between the lack of attention to detail on the bunks and electrical ,,,,,,,,,,,,it is a poorly assembled trailer. To survive the QA, has a long way to go

Thank you very much Norman! We are hoping to continue a great product with positive customer service

Just out of curiosity, do you dip the trailer into salt water?

Who? Me? No, never did I do the dirty salty deed.

Mine is over 10 years old, and it still looks it's ugly galvanized self. When I got this trailer I talked to Bill about a slick painted up and tricked out trailer rather than this ugly turd I have. Bill said, that turd will look "Perfectly" ugly 10 years from now, why would you switch?

Why do you people continue to beat on a man that has sold his business and moved on?

Jersey ain;t near no salty water. Right.

Wow !!!! A "rant" to quote the OP himself/herself - that is upwards of 15 years old - or going on TWO DECADES OLD!! Suffice to say, Offshore Only should remove satale posts and Performance Trailer in Lake George (Warrensburg) is now a standup first-rate operation run by a new owner who takes pride in his work and values his customers to the utmost. In my recent experience, and first connection with Performance Trailer, I hauled my boat up from Florida on our annual trek to Lake George for the summer. Had several trailer issues on the way up and Performance Trailer was recommended to me by several people both in Bolton Landing and Lake George. The shop is only about 20 minutes from Diamond Point - straight up the mountain to Warrensburg. Upon arrival I entered a spotlessly clean and organized workshop housing spectacular trailers for both average sized and very large boats. I met with the new owner - Brock - and we agreed on a price for construction of a new trailer for my 22' Sea Ray Sun Deck. Needless to say it was the best move I've ever made in my boating years. The trailer is solid, impeccably constructed, beautifully pained, handles like a dream and was delivered on schedule with zero cost overruns. For me to simply say I recommend Performance Trailer would be an understatement. They are highly recommended by me and I consider them to be the best in the business.

I stopped in after he took it over, seemed like everything was going well. Trailers being assembled in the shop. Too bad, seemed like a nice guy. Maybe his superboat will be for sale, Looks like it went pretty good
