Boat Stolen in Ft. Myers FL

I had my Challanger flats boat and trailer stolen in Fort Myers early Sunday morning. The bearings blew out on one wheel while towing it south on I-75 and pulled off the side at mile marker 138. I unhitched, went and bought bearings and tried to fix it. The bearing kit did not fit. I had removed the wheel and hub and had it resting on a jack. Took all valuable off the boat and left it at about 10:00PM with a trailer lock on. Can back in the morning to find it gone. Neither FHP or the Sheriffs Office show any record of towing it, so had to file a stolen vechical report. Only way this boat could have been moved was by a flat top tow truck.

Anyone have an idea which scumbag tow service might have stolen this boat? Suggestions on where to look? Sheriffs office says it's probably being taken down to parts at this point.

1988 Challanger Flats Boat, 18.5 ft. Red & White, 150 Mercury, 74 lb Minn Kota Trolling motor.

I hope you find your boat..Thats unreal..I know this dosnt help you out but it may others..flat tire, bad bearing, lost lights..DRAG IT TO THE NEXT EXIT! and under lights at a gas station or truck stop..NO REST AREAS!..I was told this by a cop after a friends bad experience losing a Harley this way..Shame that people are so frkn GREEDY!

I do hope you get your boat back intact.

Another idea for people in the future, yes, one option is to drag it. Another option, if small enough is to call a flatbed to tow it for you. If larger, tow companies can affix a temporary wheel rig under the bad wheel/axle to move it.
