Bob Barker Knoxville, IL
Anybody know this guy?
I hate writing these types of posts but sometimes it does pay off. I do this because this experience is just one more nail in the coffin of the BBLLADES Professional Propeller test prop program. As many of you know BBLADES offers a test propeller program that allows you to test/try before you buy. It is a awesome program for everyone who partakes in it. You can test OB, sterndrive and #6 propellers for a small fee for 15 days. You learn, we learn. You get what you want and need and BBLADES sells product. Win/win. Of course a program of this magnatude requires a stubstantial amount of capital! Ocasionally we get a deadbeat like Bob (the price is wrong) Barker to steal from us. In this case, Bob Barker from Knoxville, IL broke a prop shaft and lost a new Bravo 1 propeller. This in itself is a bummer for everyone. However, Bob decided he didn't want to pay for the BBLADES product he lost. Bravo 1 propellers are over $700 m.r.s.p. and we sell them for $569. Bob decided since he lost the prop (so he says), he should only have to pay my cost on the propeller. I don't know where that logic came from. Maybe watching Let's Make a Deal? After trying to explain my sorrow for the loss, I explained we are still a business and I need to feed my family too. I did cave and told Bob Barker I would knock off some $ and he needed to pay $509 for the BBLADES property he supposedly lost. This folks was in July 2012. I have since recieved $300 of a $509 bill. My phone calls have been avoided and not returned since Set. 2012. I understand we are only talking about $209 but is more than that. We offer a service that could be stopped if the few losers a year don't step up and pay their bills. Believe me, this is a smaller version of some other issues that have occured. So, if you know Bob Barker of Knoxville, IL. Tell him he is a loser and he should pay his bills. Also, the long story I bought about his honosty and needing time to pay is now just a big lie. BBLADES Propellers |
Sorry to hear that.
Locally we have a prop shop that will do the same, but they do a "pre-authorization" against your credit card for the full retail price and you have 20 days in which to return them in the same condition you got em in or your own em. |
shame on bob he is at fault on this he should step up to the plate pay what he owes you !!!!!!!!
as a buisness owner myself it sucks when you have to chase people for money |
That sucks Brett. You have a great program that I've used myself a couple times. I never understand why there are so many crooks in this industry, why burn a bridge over a few hundred dollars??
Alex |
when i tried props from bblades,i had to give my credit card number,it only takes a few scammers to screw it up for us honest ones.brett,i hope he makes it right with you.

Alex It's the allure on the selling end. Allure for the desire of the client. It's the allure on the buying end. I'm a player. Look for the guys that stand the test of time. These are the real deals. Brett |
Step up Bob, If I borrow a tool or equipment from someone and it gets broken I'm buying them a new one, it sucks but it's the right thing
|
was it for a formula 357 with.. like 700's or similar to that?
|
Very sad the values some people live by! I could go on for a long time about these kinda people. I hope you some how get your money from this guy Brett. You have been alot of help to me. Sucks when losers ruin it for the good people.
|
That SUCKS...
You and your program were really a pleasure to deal with when I needed it...I really hope it continues and the deadbeats pay up. |
Sorry to hear about that, Brett.
Reminds me of the dead-beat, that owes me $2800.00 I promise to pay. I wouldn't cheat, you. I 'am going through a divorce. Here's a check for $ 2800, if I do not deliver the custom steel work benches. Why, do I owe you? I never have said; anything bad about you. I sold my boat, so too bad! So the story goes; I was warned. I gave someone a chance and believed, they would do the right thing. Of course, his engines performed flawless and the boat ran the numbers. Brett, you know this guy, had an Eliminator, than bought a 32 Skater. You did his props, numerous times, we had conversations about it. Its a small world!!!! This person, takes the WALL OF SHAME. Don't sweat it to much, it's not worth the stress in the long run. I laugh, and make fun of my DEAD BEAT. Guess, I'll expose his low life doings, when I have some time. Take care, Mark |
Bob Barker you are a turd!
PAY BRETT WHAT YOU OWE HIM! |
I'de be willing to bet he never broke a prop shaft and its still on the back of his boat!..
looser that he is.. what's his address,,and what do you want,a ear, a toe or one of his fingers? |
Been said already but you have to not only get a CC you have to run it. 1k in props going out hit card for 1k. When they are returned credit customers card minus any fees. That is the the only way you will stop being burned.
|
Did you ever get your money from the dickwad in the islands (one of the Caribbean Islands, I forgot which one)?
|
MER,
It's a small amount of money. I just want the small arena we work in to know about this guy. Sometimes, it can help some one else too. At this point I'd just as soon embarrass him for being a scum bag. Thanks and yeah I know exactly who the other guy is Expensive date, I try to do business a little different from most of the world. I'm proud of that. We have been successful at it. But, things can change very quickly. Indy, Believe it or not, I got the prop back! Thanks to this forum, I believe. |
I with Expensive Date. Anyone in this sport ought to be able to float 1k on their CC while they test your product.

I wonder if this is the same Bob Barker that used to own a Formula 357 a while back. If it is, that boat got repoed. :poopoo:

I would have no problem with this policy. BBlades is a class act, sending them my props was one of the best things i ever did for my boat. |
No. The Bob Barker you are referring to died about a year after he lost his boat. It's been a couple years ago now.

I've used your prop test program several times and I certainly wouldn't have a problem paying in full up front and getting my refund on it's return. As a matter of fact I think it would be a good way for you to weed out the wannabe's. If they can't afford to pay up front they can't afford to play.
|
Thanks for all your support guys. And for the laughs. I love that Happy Gilmore scene.
Brett |
Have you looked for him in the Showcase Showdown? Sorry... couldn't resist... :party-smiley-004: Hope he squares up with you at some point.
