Here is one that was just back from paint in late Aug after the shootout. This one had trip 675's.

Also, check out the paint. Ratical graphics has a technique where they put water droplets in the paint and it looks just like real water. The first time I saw it, I thought the boat had sat out and there was some dew/water on it, but it was the paint. Pics don't do it justice.

What are you seeing for speeds after the chillers? Do you know what they make for power now and did you keep the same pulleys :D :D

They said they add a 100 horsepowerper motor. But we havent run the boat hard and working on some props. The boat is only running 3lbs of boost. We are talking about bumping it up to 6lbs. Also so you have anymore pics of that boat.

What was the top end on this boat, and any more pics. Rod painted my 04 4300 and did an excellent job. Those water droplets he did on my Xcess Wetness on the sides turned out excellent. Great looking B.T.

Rodney (and James) did mine in late 2005. Can't say enough good things about our experience. What most don't know was that he was one of the first to drive a truck load of relief aid to New Orleans that he gathered personally. Very good folks. TH

Wonder how the boat would handle with twin 1000's on a short stagger and 6's instead of the triples?

Take a look at Saxmans video and pm him. It is a flatdeck but the bottom design is the same.

The current 460 (tall deck) bottom is different than the current 430 (flat deck bottom). Our 430 flat deck has had a few mods and runs great. We saw 109mph with ours when we had 950's, and it had a little more left in it.

that would still be pretty sweet, having all the amenities and being able to run close to a buck.

I think the red and grey boat I posted picks of with trip 675 cheifs ran around 101-102, with their most recent bottom.

Tommy-
We like your paint job... Jo and I can easily see you across the lake!
Hi to Saber from Jo
John

THLWL 04-19-2007 07:48 AM

John,

Good to hear from you. We ran to Lake Charles this last weekend. Getting across the bay was fun in 4 to 6's. We even had a 30' Baja that made it. 12 boats went.

Where is Cougar?

Tommy

Dueclaws 04-20-2007 07:53 AM

Tommy-
The Jag is in it's warehouse; we're waiting for the drives to come back from Craig Colobella's shop. We added Hering skegs, dry sumps, rebuilt both drives and steering rams, changed to billet inside transom plates, etc.
It's going to take another month or so to complete.

4-6's? !!!! that must've been an interesting run.

Did you complete the pool?
John

THLWL 04-20-2007 10:45 AM

I meant Jaguar, not Cougar.

Having to go before a board to "try" and get approval for pool. We have a height restriction above existing grade that I need a variance for. Hopefully I'll get it.

Looks great!

How did you get that picture????? Did you know some folks that went on the run?

Tommy

Dueclaws 04-26-2007 01:21 PM

Tommy-
It's on the TOPP's website along with at least one more of your boat. :D

Saxman,

You running each engine exhaust through 1 tail pipe? Is that for a noise restriction reason? Luckily, so far down on the Texas coast, we don't have any noise restriction talk yet. You can see that the rear of your boat is totally set up for haulin' a** (compared to mine). I think Bob may be getting close on an order for another #6 boat.

Tommy

BobbyB 05-02-2007 12:26 PM

Has anyone ever built a triple number six boat?

THLWL 05-02-2007 01:00 PM

If you're talking Black Thunder then I haven't heard of one. If your talking other boats, then I have seen triple #6's in Outerlimits and NorTech. NorTech even built a quadruple #6 cat!

BobbyB 05-02-2007 07:26 PM

Yep i was talking Black Thunder. I just think it would be cool to see one with triple sixes.:D

Yeah, it is for noise restriction. The 2 headers run into a big tank inside the boat to let the exhuast and water mix and kill off some sound, and then exits through 1 downturn outside the boat. I think BT has 1 #6 boat in the works right now.......

Also, BT has never built any boats with triple 6's either.

Attached is a pic of the headers going into the tank/cans.

Looks nice! Is that a bow thruster I see on there?

THLWL 05-06-2007 08:45 AM

I had a water fill exhaust system from the factory on my 1987 32' SeaRay Pachanga. I don't think it cost me any speed, but sure sounded great when I removed them.

Yeah, that's a bow thruster. It was the fourth one installed on a BT. Won't ever have a boat without one now. We get some pretty good cross winds down here in the Houston area.

cauzmik 09-03-2007 03:11 PM

I'm pretty sure that first video is the coolest video ive seen to date, minus the sound of the wind....You swear you could reach out and touch them.

BobbyB 12-29-2008 08:32 PM

Whatever happened to the red/silver boat? I havent seen it anywhere or pics of it.
