Note that motors need to be rebuilt.

Funny I saw this boat on a trailer today in Jupiter, FL being towed by a transporter. Boat was mint when I saw it last year at the Land and Sea Poker Run.

Re: Steve David's old boat for sale

Hi Friends,

I'm still alive, just boating MUCH slower in our 54 Sea Ray Sundancer. 24 knots, no matter what :)

Sold our Black Thunder to a nice fellow back In February. He unfortunately took on bad fuel (E-85 it appears) and puked 2 of three engines in May. As I understand, the boat hasn't been well kept since the engine failures. I'm hoping that for whoever buys it, a bit of TLC will bring her back to near perfect. Sometimes I think one's previous boat should be like one's previous spouse: living far, far away..... :)

On the racing front I'm still driving the Unlimited Hydroplane U-6, Oh Boy O Berto/Miss Madison. (MissMadison.com or abrahydroplanes.com) The team is building a new hull for the 07 season and our sponsor, the O Berto sausage company of Seattle, has renewed for a 3 year contract thru 2009 season. With their help, we've had a magical 05 and 06 season with repeat National driving championships.

Still helping Black Thunder with bottom design and set up, and doing the demo rides at the Miami Boat Show. In all of my years in pleasure boating, the folks at Black Thunder, from Dennis to Bob to Don to Roger and everyone on the factory floor, they stand out as straightforward, honest, and unrelenting in their desire to meet the customers needs.
I would have no reservation in recommending a Black Thunder to anyone looking for a high performance luuxury cruiser.

Hope to see you all at the 07 Miami show.

Steve

Good to hear from you Steve. Congratulations again on the back to back's! :D Should have our BT done this year by spring. Losing the parents in the car wreck and having the wife be so sick really pushed everything else to the side. Looks like off to Mayo next. Hopefully see you in Miami this year.

Good to hear from you Steve. Best of luck in the 07 season. Hope to see you @ the Ft Lauderdale show next week if you are there. My 10 year old BT has been a great boat. Almost all the mechanical systems have been replaced.

Raticle, f311fr1,

Good to hear from you. Raticle, our prayers are with your wife and your family for her healing.

f311 from what I hear your boat is a top notch restoration, talk about a labor of love, and well OK, vast amounts of $$$$ travelling from your wallet...Hope you get a chance to use her soon!

We'll be at the Ft. Laud show on Thursday, I don't know why though. Seems to me that going to a boat show for us boating types, is like an alcoholic going to a bar...We should know better :drink:

I'll be there on Sun and Mon if required. For a 10 year old boat the old girl is in great shape. She is getting wet sanded and buffed next week. Joe Murray
