Got me a 2008 460 ES 525's. Anyone no the history on this one? Told it was at some shows on the East Coast. Apparently it was a demo for a few years and then sold in 2011 to the owner I bought it from. Always been a Formula lover, but it was time to move on. Been around a couple BT 20 yrs ago, but this is a whole different animal to me. I will have few questions to follow in some new post.

Thanks Marshall,
I see you had a Formula. I have always been a Formula man (3 formulas). Wife sick of not being able to stand up in the 357. Sold the 357 unexpectedly, although, wife has wanted to get rid of it for the past couple years. Planned on buying a 419 2000 or newer. None available and only like 12 built. Decided to look at other options. Showed the wife the BT. Able to stand in, sleep comfortably in and still had the performance. Once we looked at it, rode in it, fell in love with it.
Brought boat home. Took it out one day, then left on a 2wk trip to Jamaica. Couldn't wait to get home to take it out. Here are some more pics.

They are a floating condo, congrats, nice rig

s022mag 08-02-2015 03:23 PM

Nice piece. What kind of speeds you see with 525s.

Tinkerer 08-02-2015 09:13 PM

Gonna take a lot of HP to move all of that fluff. Nice looking boat.

I was knocking on 75 during sea trial in the Chesapeake. (73 on GPS to be exact) But it was first time driving the boat so I'm sure I didn't have it trimmed perfect. Was not my boat yet, so I didn't want to bounce it off the revs for long. I think if I play with it a bit, I could of gotten it there. 1/2 fuel and 3 people. Empty the tanks with one person, I'm sure I would see it.
Now fresh water, different story. Wife has done a pretty good job filling the storage compartments below with the necessities, filled water tank, 3/4 fuel, 6 people we were able to get 68. That was this weekend. Easy on plane and then she trims out nice. Runs along just perfect for our style.

What's the latest with your rig? How did those pro charger engines turn out?

splashandburn 08-14-2015 08:32 AM

What rpm are you running with the 26p?

splashandburn 08-14-2015 08:33 AM

Did the rebuilds over the winter. Motors dynoed at just over 900 hp. Big difference from how it ran.last year. Now the issue has been outdrives which I knew would happen. Just installed IMCO SCX's last week but really haven't had a chance to run it yet. Still working on dialing it all in.

Cleaver or Bravo props? Know of a 46 with similar power and stock bravo props on SCX drives running low 90s. Glad to hear of another condo that can really move

You must be the BT we were running next to during the Sacandaga Fun Run in June. Motors looked great at the docks. I was in the 30' Rage "Black Duck."

Those motors looked like 500's with pro-chargers, which is normally good for 700 HP. How'd you get to 900?

srl520 08-14-2015 03:33 PM

I'm running 5200.

Believe they were 540s when he bought it from LOTO. Guessing he added heads and an aggressive cam. My 555s did 775 with iron heads and M3SC and very mild cams.

They're 558's with new heads, came, etc. Running bravo props right now. Still trying to dial everything in.....

Jat64 08-19-2015 12:26 PM

Beautiful battleship! I have always liked the big wave crushers. Enjoy!

3pointstar 08-26-2015 06:22 AM

A number of years ago at the Chicago Boat Show Black Thunder had a couple of boats there - I still have the pictures somewhere. It is true you have a floating condo. Beautiful boat and from what I could tell very well built. I believe the 525 were pretty much standard issue.

all the best and please be safe

Nice boat awesome!

Sydwayz 06-17-2018 09:46 AM

There has always been a small "cult following" of the BTs on the Chesapeake Bay. At long as I have been into go-fast boats, I can remember seeing running a lift pics of them all over the bay, and I have done a few runs with them. There were also a lot of Sonic owners that had the bigger boats, 42SS and 45SS. Some of them I'm sure also became BT owners when it was time to move up.
