Check your insurance policy, auto and boat. Check your state laws. My insurance (Markel) will not cover the boat if the tow rig is not rated for the weight. So anyone would likely be driving without insurance and illegal if the vehicle is not rated.

I just went through this last month.

Do what I did.

Go down to the local Truck dealership (find one that sells all kinds of trucks) and drive, sit in, look up what they can tow...etc. I wanted to two my 38 KV Scarab with a Tundra! Man was I wrong!

Bought a nice 2003 Ford F-250 FX4 that was really clean, got a great deal and it tows and STOPS my boat like a dream.

I wouldn't Tow a 38 with an H2.....it will TOW it yes, but stopping that rig when some old lady pulls out in front of you will not be good.

Yes...you can if the lease is coming to an end. No, if you own it. Towing anything big on the hummer will give it some good premature wear.
