Underwater Boat Lighting

What is the law for having underwater lighting while you drive - is it legal in Ca?

I saw a video with them on a Cig at night and thought it looked awesome but I didn't know if it was legal - anyone have any idea's?

I have a friend that developed a LED underwater light and from what we have heard the white and green are OK when running. The blue is sorta grey area because it is same as FWC and water police. He put a do not run them while underway as CYA in his product.
