Safety Lanyard
Many people are not aware that as of April 1st 2021 the federal boating law requires all PWC and most boats under 26" have a safety lanyard (kill switch) attached to the operator.

Do a search to match what i say.
It’s for new boats built. It is not retroactive on all boats. |

Thank you for bringing this important information to our attention. You are correct that as of April 1st, 2021, the federal boating law requires all operators of most motorized boats under 26 feet in length, including personal watercraft (PWCs), to use an engine cut-off switch (ECOS) or "safety lanyard" while the boat is underway.
If it means ‘greatest in amount’, and you go boating with two other mates in their boats, if they have kill switches fitted, then you don’t need one in your boat. Two out of the three have them, i.e, “most” of the boats have them. :) RR |
Okay, one last try here.
Law was/is for boats less than 26ft being built from 2018 on. So, starting in 2018 manufacturers are required to install them in hoats they are building. This law does not state that if you own a pre 2018 < 26ft boat, you have to install one. Here, read it: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/46/4312 If anyone wants to still spread misinformation, go ahead. Doh ! |
This says boats manufactured from Jan 1, 2020:

It appears to me, i just saw another posts from jameskemp, that ‘he’ is a computer program / spam , and not a boating human. Lol.

Not trying to spread mis-information. My boat was manufactured in 2001 and when I was stopped by a marine sheriff he informed me that if the boat is equipped with a kill switch it must be attached. I didn't research the law like you did, I just stated the out come of my personal experience. It is still a safety related post.
