How about a thread showing other boats and some shots of the spectacular yachts we see in the Caribbean. I will look through the countless photos I have of yachts that have been here in front of us at Saba Rock in the BVI. These shots here are of a BIG boat and other boats that may be familiar to some on OSO.

2004 leverick Bay poker run.

The makings of another great thread David. I have some nice pics I will post of some of the yachts when I went " down Island " this spring. I felt very small pulling into Simpson Bay in St Maarten ! LOL Should be able to get some of them posted later this morning.

whats the story with fat boy? is that the one that was for sale at lake cumberland for a while?

Here are a few BIG boats. Hope it's OK to post saiboat pics. LOL This one did look majestic sailing between St Maarten and St Bartt's.

First 3 pics are in Simpson Bay, St Maarten. That is Northern Lights dwarfing Team PREDATOR at Simpson bay Marina. We also saw Northern Lights last year in the Exumas, Bahamas on our was down to BVI. Last pic is in St Bartt's harbour.

A few more BIG boats found in the North Sound, a popular anchorage in the BVI.

1 & 2) - Cakewalk ( A great article on Cakewalk starting on page 70 of June 2011 edition of Yachting magazine. One of the largest US built mega yachts ever.

Pulling into St.Maarten aboard Team Predator after a whirlwind ride that took us from St.Lucia south to Bequia and then back the other way past an a$$load of Islands, flying fish, an occasional breachin whale. a giant turtle, and a Volcano:lolhit:

This one was pretty big:drink:
I believe this guy scraped the entire port side along the inside of the drawbridge pulling into Simpson Bay.

2) Wally tender to "Angels Share" in St Lucia - over 200 miles away !!

3) This magnificent yacht was anchored at the base of the Grand Petons, St Lucia.

Just a couple photos of Rising Sun which at 458' was the largest yacht in the world just a couple years ago and now is #7 with the largest being about 100' longer.

A regulation half court on the back of a yacht ? Thats just so over the top insane!

Expat- It is amazing that there's a 100ft spread between the top seven...
"Eclipse" just looks monsterously big in pictures, I can only imagine the issues they have finding places to dock...

Here's a couple of the yacht "A". Owned by a Russian billionaire. It's been on OSO before and has been in the North Sound a couple of times. Impressive up close.

Have seen the Rising Sun, as Larry Ellison the head of Oracle Software has had it in San Francisco a few times, there was talk that he was looking to sell it at one time.

I expect it will be here for the 34th Americas Cup in 2013 when it is held in San Franccisco Bay. Larry Ellison is the defender of the Cup
its still a huge mega yacht.

Yes, I also heard he sold part interest in the Rising Sin to some mogul out California way.

The Midnight belongs to Ron P. from St Thomas. I met him last year at Saba Rock thru Expat. He is such a cool guy as well as his boat. Have since spent time w him in BVI, St Thomas and Miami and what a hoot. Too much fun.

This finally does it..as I'm on a long sick leave 'cause of a busted elbow I'm prolly done trucking so I'll turn into the sea.. that's at least a global job... being a skipper... Tropics here I come.

PS Allure of the Seas and it's sisters are all made here in my hometown, worked as a kid on the shipyard too.

It is always nice to see something different that you come across in your adventures. In Post #1, was that the "Man of Steel"?

Yes. M of S. It is also pictured in the Bahamas thread when I saw her / him / (? lol) in the harbour at Atlantis. Also came across her down in the Exumas as well. Wonder if the crew made a full recovery from the tender mashup at Big Major last year ? Hope so.

Enjoy FC Skaterfest this weekend. Thought of coming down but have settled on Muskoka / Geo Bay this weekend.

Rising Sun is always a crowd pleaser.

You might recognise these two and they happpened to be on our dock at the same time during the year before last Poker Run.
