thinking about taking the 454 out of my 24 carrera and putting in a 383 stroker any input on this move would be great

Personally I think it would be a great idea. May not necessarily be faster but balance should be excellent..just my .02.

ill try and get some pics up shortly. pantera 24 what are the dimensions on your engine hatch mine is about 2 to 3 inches short of my bench seat and was curious to see what its suppose to be.thanks

I think its a bad idea. No real power gains and it will cost more to convert to small block than it will to rebuild. I would either rebuild or buy a new longblock. Only one good reason to do it and that is fuel savings, which will never offset the additional cost to convert to small block. If you want better balance put some sand bags in the cabin.
