Wonder how solid it is. Alpha outdrives, the port drive in the pic looks like a MR drive. I could be wrong totally about the drive. I have a feeling it might be a project. The price is good but by the time you add everything up to make 100% lake ready it might not be worth it. Always liked these boats even back then. Thanks for the post.

good price i dont think those drives would last with built big blocks

Not sure SS9M and Cobalt should be mentioned in the same sentence:lolhit:

same boat, same mold, a lot of the Cobalt Condurres where made at Carrera..
The interior finish work was better though on the Cobalts..

Fromtseatdriver, maybe you can clear the air on this. I think I would rather have Carrera on my title.

Thats a good buy at around $5K(if the engines are good) for someone that is willing to spend $7~$10K to upgrade to Bravos and go thru the rest of it. I know those boats and they are solid.

As heavy as that boat is with Big Blocks I will be surprised if those Alphas aren't junk already.

So...Bravo Transom Assemblies, Drives ( '97 and later), Bravo Couplers, Raw water Pumps (either crank or belt driven), hoses and maybe even a longer steering cable to put a new Bravo Steering Ram on the port side, new hoses, new trim pumps and rams...which all adds up to R & R both engines...and a lot of patience and this will make a good one.

If anyone is thinking about pushing this one to it's potential using the Alphas...go burn another one!!:evilb:

easiest way to do it is look for a ragged out cruiser or go fast with no power for 3-6k with bravos and strip everything you need and sell off what you dont.

As for the Alphas I ran an Hp500 thur one in my Chaparral for over a year before I blew the drive.
The 454s did come with the alphas for a while straight from Mercruiser but they were the low po 454s

Alphas will live behind a light boat with BBC's but that's not the case here...living on borrowed time at best.

Good luck with it.
