X-dimension

i hear alot on the board about x dim. height do checkmates generally have high or low Xdim also does this measurement vary from boat to boat even on same year and model? i have a 99 259 does anyone know what the Xdim is on this boat?? just curious

I was also wondering about the Checkmate's X dimension. I have a '97 253 Convincor. Has anyone ever raised it on this hull.....and how was the performance increase????

I was looking into the imco shortie lower. Would it be worth the $$$ for the amount of performance i would gain???

I looked at the CM Stilleto a couple of months ago and was told they set this one up 2". Does that sound correct?

i may be wrong in my thinking but shouldnt a boat with a high Xdim. be running a 4 blade prop? if this is true why does checmate sell these boats with a 3 blade prop. also would a 4 blade be more likely to break an outdrive due to it having more gripping surface as when reentering the water? just some Qs i have before buying a 4 blade this summer.

Your X is high when you have signs of a high X. That is blowout with a 3 blade on launch or turns, unable to get on plane. If your 3 blade is working well your X is not high.

Hey Marty - If your four blade blows out is your X dimension really high? :D If your five blade blows out is your X dimension really, really high? Just kidding. How's your X dimension project coming? I'd love to see some pictures of the work in progress.

Hey Tomcat, I was just down at it this week. They are still glassing in the deck and drip rail. The box is on then the steering and motor. I'll take pictures next time I am there. I just bought a Stellings box off the board and I am working on a project to be aboe to hook up a drive shaft dyno to it. It will show real time HP and TQ while you drive! Can't wait for summer. Marty.

MXZ, buy a Hydromotive 4 blade and be happy!I put one on my Checkmate and changed the whole attitude of the boat. The Mirage just doesn't cut it. I found one on the board and got the cheapest performance increase possible. Porpose and chine walk are almost non existant now.

Mate229 is correct! Go with a Hydromotive. My 89 251 had major blowout with the 3 blade Mirage prop. During planning, turns and hard acceleration. I have talked to a couple people that say the IMCO 2" shorter lower would be work well on the Checkmate.
