28 convinsor?
Me and my wife were thinking of moving up to a 28 from are 251.(She wants more room)not a bad thing.Does anyone know how these run with single engine package( 500hp)and how do they run in the rough .
Thanks Dave |
They are great boats if you run a 251 you should know that....a lot wider and more room all around. If it was me I would look in to a 300 with twins alot more boat not that much more money if you buy used...there is a real cool looking 300 for sale on allaboutboats.com 1997-8 with 365's for around 50k Premier motorsports in Gunlake Michigan has 2 including that one my .02

Thanks guys,
I was looking at a 95 with a single hp500.Dyno,I would like to stay with A single if I could .Check300 ,Do you now what this will run for speed?I would love to buy a 2002 30 but it is not in the budget(Wish it was). :( Thanks Dave |
Dave.....i would guess in the 68-70 MPH range.
checkmate981 you dont know what your missing with twins...I'll never go back to a single, hate breaking and coming in on the hook.....
What's the differnce between the 283 and the new 300? I thought that the 300 just included the swim platform.
The Convincor 283 and 300 are the same boat... it was just renamed to include the length with the standard swimplatform.
Checkmate300 what do you guys call the old 30 foot convincer now a 32?
Dyno....yes 320...we incorperated the length with the platform in renaming all of our Convincor models.
I really don't agree with manufacturers doing this. Ok if it has an integrated platform...maybee, but a bolt-on accesory???
Just seems like the manufacturer is hoping that the buyer is unaware that the boat is only 28'3" although it says 300 on the side. Most people probably think they are getting a 30' boat, and the dealer can now charge for 30' of boat. I'm not bashing Checkmate here(I'm a proud owner of a 253), because all the manufacturers are starting to do this. I just feel it is purposely trying to Mislead the customer for more $$$. |
If the prices didnt change too much 30 ft sounds better then 28ft.

buy a fountain pay for 30 only 24 gets wet!! tailfeathers and beek always dry   :D without the beek where would Reggie hang the gold chains when not boating??  :D :D
The prices didn't change...just the names to get in line with all the built-in-swim boats... even our ZT's...it just makes sense! If your buying a 30'built-in-swim boat it's 28'with some fiberglass rapped around the swim plat! NO BEEKS HERE THOUGH! :D
In my opinion the guy who started the intigrated swim platform should be shot!
I have a ZT and I think that it makes for a better looking boat.
You were right Gslinger  Just for the record, I am a first time owner of a 28 Checkmate w/Twin Merc 2.5 EFI Offshores. Can't wait to unwrap it in the spring! :)
