Amplifier install in a 253,251,259?
 

Anyone installed their amps in the cuddy of their 251,253,or 259 Checkmates. I recently installed my amps under the rear seat and I don't like the moisture I'm finding under there. I was thinking of removing one of the pullout cushions from the wall behind the dash and mounting both amps there. Anybody have any ideas or pics of their own? Thanks, Chris

I'm ready to put some in my 283. I should have more room, but I'm equally curious to see how other folks have mounted theirs. Good thread (if you get some response). :ernaehrung004:

Check out the listing for my ZT. Cabin pic shows amp install. Removed a filler cushion, mounted amps, made face-plate and covered with headliner material from Checkmate to match.
It is the best location and nice way for clean looking install.

Thanks Kelly! Great install. Just what I was thinking of doing. I wish I had taken more time to plan this out. Guess I'll start over when the warm weather returns. Any pointers regarding the install? How did you run the wires from the head unit to the amps? Under the headliner in the cabin? Thanks again! Chris

I have 2 mounted verticlly in the radio cabnet just inside the cabin door, can't show them as they are hidden...Rob
