Hydromotive Props

Anyone have experience with the difference between a Quad IV-X and the Quad-IV on Checkmates?

1996 253 Convincer 385HP MAG.The Q4 24 no "X", no trim no bow lift.
Q4 "X" 24P plenty of trim response. Both were too much prop,56 mph at 4700RPM. VERY nice cruising props. No porpoise.
I just bought a Bravo 1 22p and a 24p there are next on my try list.
I run 63 MPH on GPS with a 23 mirage plus. Cruse speed propose. I see some guys are running a Mercury Revolution 4 Prop??? thought that was an Out Board prop?? Any one running one of them on a Checkmate IO ??

i am running 24p bravo 1 on my 98 convincor 253 with a 385 hp 454 bone stock and I have seen 60mph with a little more to go. need to get it up on the pad though. have a friend that has a zt280 with a labbed hydro IV 26p running a 496 with cmi's and he likes it. see's 74 on gps.

I have a 21 Revolution 4 I run on my 89 251 w/454 magnum. It runs just as good as my 22 Bravo one and 23 Mirage plus with a few more rpm (as it is a smaller diameter and pitch). I get the same top end and cruising speed.

1997 253 Convincor 502 mpi

I am running a stock 502 mpi and a 24p Bravo 1. I run constant 63-64 in the summer. Best speed of 67. My boat is a deluxe model, fridge, microwave, ac/heat and I carry alot of sh** in my boat. So i guess my speed is not bad..

2001 26 convincer, 502 mag, tweeked to 550 hp, 26 bravo labbed down to 25. awsome cruising prop but shaving about 4-7 mph on top. max rpm is about 5000. will be trying a 24 again next spring. i like the cruising better than top anyway.

So I am looking to add some top end speed to my "new to me" '96 253 (454 385hp). It has a 24p Bravo 1. I was told to go to a 22 Bravo. How about a 3 blade prop? Is that a bad idea? I am plannig on running around for one or two summers with the current motor then change some things up but for now I just want to get the most out of what I got.

Peace,
Rob

4 blade is better for take off, cruising, etc. more bite. 3 blade would get you more top end speed. what rpms are you running with the 24? you could send your 4 blade to murphys in virgina and have them tweek it down alittle. we launch at the goose alot. look us up this summer... mark

Thanks Mark. The Goose is ground zero for me.

Peace,
Rob
